Heiko Dijker (Tabla Teacher)

Heiko Dijker is an Amsterdam based table player/composer whose playing is marked by enthusiasm and energy, depth of knowledge and rhythmic poetry. He left Holland at a young age to find true soulfulness in music and life. Hitch-hiking around the world on his own, Heiko was drawn into classical Indian music and the beauty of India.

After years of traditional training in India, living in a small clay hut and doing saintly practice in the Himalayas, he continued to learn with grandmaster Faiyaz Khan in the Guru-Shishya (Master-Disciple) system. Currently, Heiko has joined his traditional skills with his electronic production and composition, and has produced several albums. Heiko has worked with artists like Krishna Das, Shankar Mahadevan, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Meeta Pandit, Saskia Laroo, Melissa Etheridge, the Rotterdam Philharmonic and Ravichandra Kulur.

Next to his concerts, Heiko gives master-classes all over the world at universities & conservatories, and teaches at the SKVR Rotterdam, and at the Gandhi Centre in Den Haag.

Amit Khanna (Yoga Teacher) Mr. Amit Khanna is working as Yoga Teacher at The Gandhi Centre,

Cultural Wing of Embassy of India, The Hague since 14th March 2016. Earlier he has worked as Yoga Therapist / Yoga Expert at Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi. He has more than 7 years of experience as Yoga Therapist. He has imparted Yoga Training and Yoga Therapy to more than 20,000 people across India and abroad.

Mr. Khanna is basically a Physiotherapist and holds Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Later he turned to Yoga Therapy and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy of two years duration. He did his training in Yoga Therapy from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangaluru and Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthan, Bangaluru and learnt yoga therapy under the guidance of internationally renowned Yoga faculty members like Dr Ishwar V. Basavaraddi, Dr. S Nagarathna etc. He has also worked as Guest Faculty (Yoga) at Indian Red Cross Society for more than five years.

Mr. Khanna has participated in many national conferences and seminars. He has also conducted workshops as Resource Person and represented MDNIY in Continuing Medical Education program for Ayush Professionals organized by Ayush cell, Government of Tripura and Government of Punjab at Agartala and Patiala respectively. He has travelled abroad and participated as Yoga Expert at Embassy of India, Thailand at mass event to commemorate the First International Day of Yoga celebration and imparted Yoga Training to approximately 7,500 persons. He has worked at the President’s House, New Delhi as Yoga Therapist as well as Physiotherapist in private practice. His expertise lies in imparting yoga therapy and designing yoga therapy protocol based on various medical conditions and life style disorders. He led the practice of Common Yoga Protocol at the Atrium City Hall, The Hague on the occasion of 2nd International Day of Yoga in June, 2016.

Neel Ranjan MukherjeeA prime disciple of legendary sitar maestro Pandit Debu Chaudhuri

“Padmabhushan awardee” Neel Ranjan Mukherjee is the one and only performer playing Indian classical music on traditional Hawaiian guitar over two decades. He enthralls his audiences with 7 strings & 4 octaves without adding any extra strings like sympathetic or drone in it which is a rare phenomenon. His natural sense of music and melody of raga and limitless guidance of his guru made him the first musician of the present era. Being trained under the strict discipline of Senia Gharana, Neel’s is a traditional style but his presentation illustrates his own brilliance and always leaves an impression on the audience’s heart which shows his mastery and individuality. His tuneful sparkling fingers depict both in Tantrakari (instrumental) and Gayaki (vocal) style. Apart from his excellence in performances, Neel Ranjan has successfully trained number of Hawaiian guitar, Santoor and Sitar players across the country who are performing successfully in India and abroad.

This talented young musician is a winner of Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy state music competition in 1996 & 1999 and received State scholarship from the former Governor of Uttar Pradesh in 1999. Recipient of Prabhakar degree from Parag Sangeet Samiti and Sangeet Shiromani from University of Delhi. He has performed in many prestigious festivals in India and abroad & represented Delhi on number of occasions including National Youth Festival organized by Government of Kerala & Jharkhand. He has performed in State Youth Festival, Delhi organized by Sahitya Kala Parishad (Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi) in 2001. He has been invited as a visiting faculty in very prestigious music academy “SAAZ O AAWAAZ” of Toronto, Canada and has been awarded by a member of parliament of Canada for his outstanding performance & contribution to Indian classical music. As an empanelled artiste of Indian Council of Cultural Relations, he has been fortunate to perform for Indian consulate Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and High Commission of India, Dhaka, Bangladesh and National Press Club, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He regularly performs for All India Radio, Delhi as an enlisted artist. As a regular examiner of Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy (Lucknow) since 2001 he has been invited to judge the competition organized by them. He has conducted music workshops as a director in the year 2007,2008,2011,2012 & 2013 organized by Sahitya Kala Parishad (Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.) He has performed with his guru Pandit Debu Chaudhuri on number of occasions including SPIC MACAY, National Council of Educational Research and Training, Indian Council of Cultural Relations & Central Hall (Parliament House) to celebrate 60th year of Indian Parliament, New Delhi and many other festivals. Has performed for His Holiness Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati at Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh) and his Holiness ParamPujyaShankaracharya in Varanasi and has got their valuable blessing. He has been awarded by Delhi State scholarship from Sahitya Kala Parishad in the year 2003 for Hawaiian Guitar & National scholarship from Human Resource Development, Ministry of Culture, Government of India in the year 2001 for Hawaiian guitar & in the year 2003 for Santoor. He has performed for SAARC delegates. He has been invited to perform in Horizon series organized by ICCR, New Delhi in 2012. His performance has been recorded and broadcast by National channel of All India Radio, New Delhi. He has been interviewed by Doordarshan (Television) and All India Radio, New Delhi & overseas. He has composed many vocal orchestras and recorded music for various fusion bands. He has recorded audio albums with Guitarmonk (4cd’s) and EMI (1cd). He is the Director of an exclusive venture presenting two poles together through a creative Project “STRINGS N STEPS”, New Delhi. This venture showcases the union of North India classical dance from Kathak by Kathak danseuse Sangeeta Majumder and Internationally renowned Tabla Maestro Ustad Akram Khan with the western instrument ‘Hawaiian Guitar’.
