Welcome and Announcements

Opening Hymn: “All Creatures of Our God and King” Lyrics on Screen

BRLS Staff Commissioning Mr. Gordon Schamber, Principal (10:30am)

Invocation Pastor: In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. Congregation: Amen.

Confessions and Absolution P Beloved in the Lord! Let us draw near with a true heart and confess our sins unto God our

Father, beseeching Him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to grant us forgiveness. P Our help is in the name of the Lord, C who made heaven and earth. P I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord, C and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

(Silence for reflection on God's Word and for self-examination)

P O almighty God, merciful Father, C I, a poor, miserable sinner, confess unto You all my sins and iniquities with which I have ever offended You and justly deserved Your temporal and eternal punishment. But I am heartily

sorry for them and sincerely repent of them, and I pray You of Your boundless mercy and for the sake of the holy, innocent, bitter sufferings and death of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to be gracious and merciful to me , a poor, sinful being .

P Almighty God, our heavenly Father, has had mercy upon us and has given His only Son to die for us and for His sake forgives us all our sins. To those who believe on His name He gives power

to become the children of God and has promised them his Holy Spirit. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved. Grant this, Lord, unto us all.

C Amen.

Prayer of the Day P The Lord be with you.

C And also with you. P Let us pray. C O Lord, grant us wisdom to recognize the treasures You have stored up for us in heaven, that we may never despair but always rejoice and be thankful for the riches of Your grace; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Kyrie

C Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us.

The Old Testament Reading 8:00 10:30 MNP Jeremiah 29:4-12

John Schweitzer Bruce Ray Dana Sanders

“Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. 6 Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. 7 But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. 8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they dream 9 for it is a lie that they are prophesying to you in my name; I did not send them, declares the LORD.10 “For thus says the LORD: When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. P This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God.

Anthem: “If You Seek Me” Trinity Chorale

The Second Reading 8:00 10:30 MNP Colossians 3:1-11 Alan Schuldt John Ponseti Mike Calimari

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. P This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God.

Alleluia and Verse (Please Stand)

The Holy Gospel 8:00 10:30 MNP Luke 12:13-21 Dianne Smith Eric Marx Bob Rivas

P The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke, the twelfth chapter. C Glory be to Thee, O Lord.

Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” 15 And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” 16 And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, 17 and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ 18 And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.” P This is the Gospel of the Lord

C Praise to You, O Christ.

Your marriage is important! Here is this week’s date night idea.

“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Ephesians 5:21

DANCE WITH ME…

Take a dance lesson. This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill together in a fun and energetic way. Pick a dance class that neither of you have been to before. Check local listings for salsa, swing, or ballroom for example. If this is NEW to both of you, you’ll soon

discover that it’s not only a great excuse to bring you closer together physically, it’s also a great lesson in communications. Plus, chances are you’ll be making a lot of mistakes, which will allow for plenty of comedic moments. What are you waiting for? Get dressed, get pumped, and hit the floor!

As part of our summer of love, Trinity will be assisting with the Fifth Annual District 6 Back to School Extravaganza hosted by Councilwoman Donna Collins-Lewis’s office. The event will take place at the BREC Headquarters located at 6201 Florida Blvd. on August 10th from 10am-1pm. They are preparing to provide school supplies to 600 youth in this district. There will

be door prizes and lunch provided to all in attendance. All kinds of supplies are needed. Drop your items in the red baskets outside the church office. For a complete list of supplies needed, call the church office. If you would like to volunteer your time to collect and deliver the back to school items, please call Lisa at 272-3110.

FOOD FOR THE NEEDY: Please remember we are still collecting groceries and diapers for Southeast Ministries. Next time you are at the store, pick-up a little something extra to donate to this worthy ministry. We have already delivered 2 full carts and would like to continue to make deliveries for the next several months. Carts are located in the Narthex and the church hallway.

NEW BIBLE STUDY! Join a great “Summer of Love” Bible Study class led by John Ponseti entitled “Relationships: God’s Way”. Located in Pastor Dave’s office during the Education Hour, this class started last Sunday and is geared towards young adults, singles or anyone who wants to improve their relationships or share their success stories. PLEASE JOIN US AFTER THE 10:30 SERVICE, as we celebrate Gordon Schamber’s 40 years of service in the Lutheran Schools. Please bring a finger food or snack if you would like. Cards are welcomed. We thank God every day for giving us the gift of Mr. Schamber!

SUMMER OF... SUNDAE SUNDAY: Next Sunday, August 11

th,

join us in the fellowship hall after both services as

the Board of Parish Education hosts “Sundae

Sunday”. What a great time to fellowship and

show our love for each other as well as enjoy a

wonderful treat. Please come!

STARTING SEPT 22: The 10:30 service will be moved to 11:00 from September 22 through November 24. Please put this on your calendar. This will accommodate the extra time we will need during the education hour for Financial Peace University. Start Dreaming Big!

FLOWERS ON THE ALTAR TODAY are given to the glory of God by Rhonda Starns in memory of her dad.

PLEASE NOTE: The Flower Basket now requires that all flowers must be paid for at the time of or before the order is placed. Orders are placed on the Monday prior to the Sunday they are to be displayed. Please contact Deloris Bitting if you have any questions.
