8 Celebrating 2012-2013!The 2012-2013 school year is concluding with great success. We deeply appreciate all Whitmore Charter School parents, teachers and volunteers for their contributions in making WCSAT a wonderful place for learning not only for our kids, but for parents and school staff. I also want to recognize our PBC which consists of parents and teachers. They have provided many wonderful opportunities for families, including many of the ones listed be-low. We appreciate all of their hard work and efforts.
During this school year so many great things happened including; exciting Winter and Spring Performances, assemblies for awards, history, theater and life skills. We enjoyed Life Skills pizza luncheons, Literacy Night, Round Up, Spirit Days, Book Fairs, Dance-A-Thon, Santa Breakfast, and a contin-ued building of our school climate and spirit. Let’s not forget that our API, based on California State tests improved dramatically! Congratulations to all of you for this wonderful achievement! Cheers to another fantastic year and an amazing school!
Please look for a letter in the mail about two weeks before school starts welcoming you and your child to our new school year. The letter will contain more information about our Back-to-School Night and beginning of the year events.
I commend our wonderful staff and teachers for working so hard to provide our students with high expectations and a rigorous education. They continu-ally go “above and beyond” to enrich our school with both their time, and talents. Last, please join me in congratulating Mrs. Key and Ms. Gill on their retirement. They have spent many years contributing to the success of Ceres children and we are so grateful.
I, and the entire Whitmore Staff, wish you a very happy summer and hope that you enjoy your precious time during the summer with your children as much as we enjoyed our time with them during the school year.
If you ever have any concerns, questions, or suggestions, please do not hesi-tate to contact me at (209) 556-1610 or you may email me at [email protected].

First Grade Experiences the Arts Photos by: Renee Gaskill WCSAT Parent
On May 10th, WCSAT first graders dressed up to see the story of Peter Pan at the Gallo Center for the Arts.
After the performance, they were treated to a wonderfully magical lunch at McDonalds where Tinkerbell and friends transformed the restaurant into a scene from Never Never Land.
All the students and chaparones greatly enjoyed the festivities!

Farewell Beloved Teachers! Two wonderful teachers will be missed by so many students at Whitmore Charter. Mrs. Key and Ms. Gill took a moment to celebrate their retirement during an afternoon party on May 8th. A popcorn machine and snow cone machine were purchased for WCSAT in their honor. Students, past and present, made time to visit with each teacher during the reception, sharing won-derful stories on how these two teachers made such an impact on their lives. You will be greatly missed!

WCSAT Middle School A Living Museum
Sixth, seventh and eigth grade students worked very hard this year to create a living museum in the Whitmore Charter multi-purpose room. The event was the grand showing of student research and creativity in the knowledge each had gained about a significant person in American history. Students dressed in period costumes, portraying their artist, author, celebrity, scientist, innovator or person of interest. Please join us in congratulating the WCSAT Middle School students for a project well done!
