WE CELEBRATE BAPTISM Baptism is celebrated on two Sundays of the month at 1:30PM. Parents must come to the Rectory to complete a special registration form for Baptism. Upon completion of the form, a Baptism date will be given by Sr. Mary. Please do not make arrangements for a Baptism Celebration before you get a Baptism date from Sr. Mary, as we may not be able to grant any special requests for a particular date. Parents of first children are required to attend one Baptism Preparation Class (as well as parents who have never participated in a Baptism class). Registration for the Baptism Preparation Class can be made at the time the Registration Form for Baptism is completed with Sr. Mary.

WE CELEBRATE GOD’S FORGIVENESS The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is celebrated on Saturday from 3:20 PM – 4:20 PM. Parishioners should feel free to call to make an appointment for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at any other time.

WE CELEBRATE MARRIAGE Our Parish Pre-Cana Program prepares these couples for the responsibilities and joys of Christian marriage. It is necessary to arrange your wedding date with the Church at least six months in advance. Please call the Rectory (744-2609).

ANNULMENT – Reestablishing The Freedom To Marry An annulment can be described as a declara on of sacramental matrimonial invalidity. It is an official determina on made by an ecclesias cal court that at the

me of the marital consent exchanged by the par es a specific component of the marriage was lacking or defec ve. Hence, the marriage failed to be a sacramental marriage as defined by the Catholic Church. If you wish to reestablish your freedom to marry in the Church contact the Diocese of Rockville Centre. If you would first like to speak to someone who has been through this process, please contact Philip and Donna Liscia at: 631-942-4645.

WE MINISTER TO THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND If you are sick or homebound and would like to receive Communion at home, please call Sister Mary at the Rectory (744-2609).

Dear Parishioners,

It is my joy and pleasure to welcome you all back to the Church to celebrate the Holy Mass, specially on the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I thank God for you all, being back with full health in mind and body. Jesus was with us in these days in his spiritual form as he promised, now he is going to be with us physically in his Holy Eucharistic Sacrifice. Thank you Father, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Ho-ly Spirit for giving us this opportunity to come back to be together with you and with our faithful ones.

Thank you all for your love, concern, prayers and support in this time of trials and struggles. You were all so good and I thank God for all of you and I thank you all for what you have been.

According to New York State’s plan, churches/indoor facilities must operate at 25% building capacity. We will abide by those guidelines.

Mass will take place: Saturday at 5pm Sunday at 8am, 10am, and 12pm

If you do not feel comfortable attending Mass in person, we will be offering the Sunday 10am and 12pm. Masses via zoom.

So, how will Mass look different so that we can ensure safety for all?

• Holy Communion will be distributed at the conclusion of Mass.

• Families and those who traveled to church together may sit together. All others must practice social distance and stay 6 feet apart from each other.

• Masks (or a cloth facial covering) must be worn by all in attendance. It must cover your nose and mouth. Children under 2 years of age and those with breathing difficulties do not have to wear masks.

• Holy Water fonts will remain empty, but dispensers will be available for parishioners to take Holy Water home with them.

• Hymnals/missals will be removed from the pews and bulletins will not be distributed.

• There will be no entrance, offertory or recessional procession.

• The Sign of Peace is omitted until further notice.

We thank you for your cooperation. We are all navigating these new times to-gether.

An important reminder: if you are sick, or vulnerable due to age or health condi-tions, we strongly encourage you to at-tend Mass virtually via Zoom. Health is at the forefront of our minds, and we don’t want any of our parishioners to be at risk.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call St. Anthony’s at (631) 744-2609.

I cannot wait to see you this weekend. Sincerely, Father Augustine

Weekly Reflection THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST Manna in the desert, water from a rock, bread, wine. God provides food to nourish our bodies and our souls, to bring us into union with the Di-vine. This is what we celebrate on this Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The Israelites who journeyed through the desert for forty years knew physical hunger, but they were also hungry for more—they needed to know that God was with them as they made their way through the dangerous desert. We too experience hunger. We need to be assured that the Lord is with us as we navigate the circumstances of our lives, some of which feel dangerous, if not to our bodies, certainly to our spirit. Our participation in the Eucharist provides this assurance and more: fed with Christ’s Body and Blood, we are drawn into communion with Christ and one another.

SAINT ROMUALD (c. 951-1027) June 19 “God so loved the world,” declares John 3:16. “Do not love the world,” warns 1 John 2:15. The “world” to love: this planet, entrusted to our stew-ardship, and its people, God’s children all. The “world” to flee: “sensual lust, enticement for the eyes, and a pretentious life” (1 John 2:16). Born in nobility, Romuald’s conversion followed the shock of witnessing his father murder an enemy. Renouncing his privileged world, Romuald sought God’s world in monastic life. Its winding turns and several dead ends make Romuald’s journey resonate with all who find life more maze than superhighway. Both the hermit’s solitary struggle and community life’s unique challenges shaped Romuald’s legacy: his vast Camaldolese Benedic-tine family of monks, nuns, and lay associates who, these thousand years later, from the moun-tain solitude of Camaldoli, Italy to an urban mon-astery in Berkeley, California—in Asia, Africa, South America, Europe—integrate Romuald’s ex-perience into their witness of solitary prayer, com-munal charity and worship, and promotion of con-templative spirituality in this world that can so easily distract us from the God who loves it still. —Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

FOOD FROM HEAVEN God sustained the people of Israel for forty years in the desert with manna sent down from heaven, & Moses doesn’t want them to forget it. God brought forth water from stone for them to drink, & Moses doesn’t want them to forget this, either. And Moses tells them—twice—that the food that God sent was a food that neither they nor their ances-tors before them had ever experienced before.

Jesus too speaks of food come down from heaven, food that the Jewish people had never experienced before. Recalling the manna in the desert, Jesus doesn’t want them to forget it either, explaining that he is the food and drink of eternal life. And Paul reiterates to the Corinthians and to all of us that in the bread and in the cup, we share in the body and blood of Christ. WHAT IS YOUR DESERT? Chances are you are not physically wandering in a desert, although millions of people throughout the world live without adequate clean water. All of us experience spiritual and emotional deserts, however. The food that Je-sus gives in the Eucharist, his very Body and Blood, soul and divinity, nourish us in our de-sert moments and strengthen us to live as Christ’s people in the world. Partaking in Christ’s Body and Blood, we are to live as Christ’s people in the world, standing in soli-darity with those who are in deserts of their own—physical, spiritual, and emotional. We are called to act as Christ’s body, nourishing others through our presence, prayer, and shar-ing. What is your desert? How does the Eu-charist strengthen you as you journey through this dark and sometimes frightening place in life? What deserts of others are you called to address through your caring and sharing as a member of Christ’s body, the Church?
