2. Overview of the Operation of the BBQ Blower

The Perfect Draft BBQ Blower is a powered draft system that controls the

temperature of your BBQ pit using state-of-the-art technology, which incorporates

a temperature probe and a variable speed fan for premium airflow control. The

BBQ Blower system is equipped with an automatic control setting or a manual

control setting, enabling you to maximize temperature efficiency and time

management. While in automatic control mode, the built in circuit board is

designed to utilize the temperature probe to send a constant heat signal to the

BBQ Blower fan, regulating a precise flow of air into the firebox to achieve the

desired temperature set point. If the Blower can’t reach the temperature setting

you desire OPEN your stack exhaust more this will increase the draft through the

smoker. NOTE: If the temperature in the BBQ smoker continues to rise the BBQ

Blower Fan will not come on, you should CLOSE OFF on your Stack exhaust to

lower the temperature into a proper range and let the BBQ Blower fan cycle

on/off to regulate your BBQ smoker temperature. If you want to take control, the

manual control settings allow you to monitor your local temperature gauge and

you can adjust the Fan speed manually to regulate the temperature in your

smoker.

CAUTION:

Always connect the Heat Shield to the BBQ Blower while it’s connected to the fire

box failure to do so can result in damage to the outer shell of the Blower. If the BBQ

Pit temperature exceeds 400 degrees disconnect the BBQ Blower until the

temperature drops below 400 degrees.

3. Installation of the Perfect Draft BBQ Blower with Safely Hook and Heat Shield

The face of the Blower has a slotted attachment on the front. This attachment

is used to slide over the included safety hook to prevent the blower from falling in

the event of an unforeseen incident, causing the blower to be damaged and

voiding the warranty. There are 2 ways to connect The Heat Shield. 1. You can

slide it behind the slotted attachment on the front of the Blower. 2. You can place

the Heat Shield on the firebox then attach the BBQ Blower on the hook. Move

the heat shield in place until the entire front plate is covered and slide it on the

safety hook on your firebox. The BBQ Blower is ready to use.

The Heat Shield is attached to the front of the Blower, and the Blower is connected on the Safety Hook. Notice there is no gaps between the Heat Shield and the face of the Blower.

Every firebox is designed

different so you need to locate

the best place to attach the

safety hook. Once you have

located the proper location for

the safety hook. Drill a 3/8” hole

and secure the hook using the

bolt and wing nut. Now you can

attach the BBQ Blower on the

hook.

You can place the Heat Shield behind the slotted metal face plate. You can place the Heat Shield on the firebox then attach the BBQ Blower on the hook. The force of the magnets will try to reposition the shield, adjust it once have attached it to the firebox .you slide the hook

through the metal plate opening

When starting your BBQ fire add your desired charcoal and wood and light it. Next

attach your BBQ Blower and put the switch on manual operation to help regulate the

airflow to get the fire going. Once you have a good fire, start adjusting your stack damper

Note: Do not closed your stack completely

Attach the Perfect Draft BBQ Blower

Open the stack damper 100% when starting your fire

Close stack damper 50% - 60% for medium to high temperature smoking

Close stack damper 75% - 85% for low temperature smoking

If the BBQ Blower has trouble maintaining the temperature adjust the stack exhaust as needed.

5. Controlling the BBQ Blower in Automatic mode

The temperature probe is made of braided stainless but avoid exposing

the thermocouple wires to direct flame this can damage the probe. You

can order replacement probes from www.Bbqblowers.com Your BBQ

Blower temperature probe should always be placed so that it is not in a

direct line with the fire. For best practice, chose a location near the top of

your BBQ pit close to the existing temperature gauge. Using a 3/8” drill bit,

drill a hole in the desired location on your BBQ pit.

If you need a longer probe can buy a 3 foot extension at

www.bbqblower.com

.

NOTE – you can place the temperature probe under the lid of the BBQ pit on the cooking grate, be careful not to damage the wire of the temperature probe. If your Temperature wire is pinched or broken the Automatic function will not work properly
