DESCRIPTION

There are three crucial things you need to think about when choosing a shirt. Arm length: Too long or too short? Trust us when we say that neither looks great! Take a couple of minutes to measure your arm length correctly and you’ll never be seen tugging your sleeves down or have to roll them up out of the way again. Begin by measuring the distance from the nape of your neck to the end of your shoulder. Then bend your arm at a right angle, and measure from your shoulder to where you want the cuff of your sleeve to sit. Add these two measurements together and you have your arm measurement. Neck circumference: Too tight and you’ll be gasping for air, too loose and your tie will never sit correctly and you’ll be subject to uncomfortable bunching. To make sure you get the right fit, first measure around the base of your neck, with the tape measure flat against your skin. Allow enough room to fit a single finger between the tape and your neck – if you can fit two fingers down your collar, it’s too big! Chest size: To avoid bulging seams, or the tent-effect, measure around the widest part of your chest, close up under your arms. Make sure the tape measure is horizontal around your body and that the tape measure runs across the bottom of your shoulder blades. You want to still be able to move freely, so don’t pull the tape too tight – you don’t want to burst out of your shirt hulk-style after all! Once you've got these measurements you’re ready to go and find the perfect fitting shirt.
