WaterBy: Carson Hsiao

I lay beside the river, the water playing notes upon my skin. The rush of the falls downstream cloud my thoughts and allow a restful nap. As I drift off, I imagine a warmer day which would allow a swim in the clear waters. I open my eyes and notice fish swimming at the bottom of the river, the fish who have been eaten by raccoons and bears. Those creatures… bears. They are beautiful creatures who drink water and eat fish. One day, bears and humans might live together in these rivers, splashing playfully and playing games. But then I awake, and my senses tell me this dream will never be a reality, so I cry.
