    The Print Space

The Print Space is a printers based on Old Street in London. Here you can print,

mount and even frame photos. The great benefit to this place is that you can go into

the store and print your own publications, or you can get them professionally done

by a member of staff. These prints can also be delivered by post if you choose.

    Types of printing:

There are three different ways that you can print photos at The Print Space, which

are C-Type, Giclee or CMYK Proofs.

C-Type: - These prints are created on light sensitive professional paper using a finelybalanced red, green and blue light source. The good thing about this type of printing

is the colour range. A C-Type print has a much broader colour range than a Giclee

print, therefore creating a better blend of colours within an image.

Giclee: - These kinds of prints are commonly known as inkjet prints. At The Print

Space they use Epson professional inkjets. There two benefits over C-Type to using

this form of printing. Firstly, you have a much larger range of papers that can be

used in the printers and also the pictures tend to be slightly more vivid. However,

they do lack the colour range that C-Types deliver.

CMYK Proofs: - These types of print help to control the colour of your images when

they are going to press. If you convert to the correct CMYK colour profile and run a

proof, then this will give you the best chance at an accurate colour reproduction.

    Types of Paper:

Fuji GlossA professional colour paper with a glossy finish that gives colour a

punchy, rich feeling. A good choice to show the finer details in an image.

Fuji MattThis paper has a slightly stippled coating. It gives a very natural finishwith subtle colours.

Fuji FlexThis paper is super glossy with a plastic feel to the paper. It gives an

ultrahigh gloss finish to create a luxurious image with rich colours.

Kodak MetallicThis is a very alternative paper that has a rich metallic base. The

colours become reflective and have a very 3-dimensional feel to them.

Hahnemuhle PhotoragA 308 gsm artistic paper that delivers a fibrous finish. The

paper mutes the colours of an image making a really chalky effect.
