Dear Valued Customer,

P&G is announcing a limited, voluntary recall, of select Iams dry cat & dry dog and Eukanuba dry dog food products because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. These lots were distributed to a limited number of retailers, primarily in the Eastern United States, and represent roughly one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) of annual production. These products were produced on a single production line at one of our 3 U.S. plants. Equipment issues on this line potentially compromised the product quality.

Internal P&G testing determined that some product lots produced on this line have the potential for salmonella contamination. As a precautionary measure, P&G is recalling all products made during this timeframe on this specific manufacturing line.

No other cat or dog dry food, cat or dog canned wet food, biscuits/treats, or supplements are affected by this announcement. This voluntary action is limited to a single line in a single plant, and we do not expect any product outages or supply issues resulting from this action.

No health effects related to salmonella have been reported on these products. P&G is taking this precautionary step in order to ensure our customers and consumers get the highest level of quality and service.

As always, animal health and well being is our first priority. 99% of all Iams and Eukanuba products in the marketplace are unaffected and can be fed with confidence.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this recall and appreciate your prompt support on removing this specific product from your shelves.
