This was a time period in American history where many groups of people stood up to issues of inequality and injustice through individual and group action.

This time period overlapped with the Gilded Age and Industrialization

Large monopolistic companies and too much power in the trusts

Muck Raking The Muckrakers were the investigative

journalists of their day. Exposing evil became a flourishing

business.
