1- GENERAL INFORMATION
LIFE09 ENV/ES/453
In Europe there are a wide number of technologies aiming the improvement of the manure management.
Despite the environmental problems in the different European regions with high-density livestock production are the same, the state of the art of the different solutions available in the market is different there is not a common patron for the using of the different technologies.
- Lack of unifying criteria to solve the problems.
- There are a large number of scientific studies, theoretic or at lab scale, but a few a full size scale.
- It is necessary to assess the management systems from a global perspective.

2. Common Evaluation and Monitoring Protocol (CEMP)
LIFE09 ENV/ES/453
Definition of a common protocol by means of establishing the criteria, indicators, parameters and the procedures to be followed for the monitoring and evaluation of the different treatment systems.

4. MANEV TOOL
LIFE09 ENV/ES/453
What is the Manev tool?It is a software that guides the user in the selection of the manure management system that best meets his/her needs according to a specific farming context.
The results are indicative and allow the user to compare different alternatives from different points of view.
4- MANEV Tool: General information
To whom is the MANEV tool addressed?Actors involved in the management: farmers, livestock breeders, public and private bodies, technical experts working in the sector and public authorities.

Step 4. Project management
The MANEV tool can be used in two modes depending on
the technical skills of the user:
• The user does not have technical expertise in manure treatment technologies.
• An assistant advices the user on what management systems best meet his/her needs.
• The management systems are pre-defined and not subject to modifications.
• The management system based in land spreading is prioritise.
• The user has advanced technical expertise in manure treatment technologies.
• The user can shape his/her management systems.
• The user can modify the value of certain calculation parameters.
• No management system is prioritised.

Production of an organic fertilizer with added value Production of energy (electricity and heat) Volume reduction Make the manure handling easier with a S/L separation Obtaining of a liquid effluent for watercourse or municipal wastewater discharge Reduction of gas emissions to the air (NH3, CH4, N2O ...).
Q2. Which is the complexity level of the technology that you are able to deal with? Low / High
Q3. Which is your maximum investment cost affordable (€)?
Q4. Which is your maximum operating cost affordable (€/t or €/m3)?
