Did you know that one of the ways God carries outyourdeliveranceandyourprotection is throughangels?Youliterallyhaveangelsatyourservice.

TheBibleteachesthattheyaresenttoserveyouandkeep you safe as you carry out God’s will in your life.Hebrews 1:14 says, “Are not the angels all ministeringspirits(servants),sentout intheservice[ofGodfortheassistance] of thosewho are to inherit salvation?” (TheAmplifiedBible).

Theangelof theLordencampsabout thosewho fearGod,todeliverthem(Psalm34:7).Yourangelsjustsetupcamp wherever you are. When you move, they move.Whenyougo to town, theygo to town.Whenyougo tothegrocerystore,theygotothegrocerystore.Whenyougotowar,theygotowar.

In 2 Kings 6 you can find a picture of how angelsoperate. Elisha, the prophet of God, received insideinformationfromGodonthestrategiesofenemynations. He would pass that information along to the king ofIsrael, so Israel was never caught off-guard in anymilitarymaneuver.

When the enemy king realized that somehowinformationwasleakingtoIsrael, heassumedtheyhadaspy in theircamp.“Who is telling thekingof Israelourmilitarysecrets?”hedemanded.

His servant answered, “None, my lord O king; butElisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king ofIsraelthewordsthatyouspeakinyourbedchamber”(2Kings6:12,TheAmplifiedBible).

So the enemy king and his entire army took off inpursuit of one man! They surrounded the city whereElishawasstayingand“whentheservantof themanofGod was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an hostcompassed the city both with horses and chariots…”(verse15).

Elisha’s servant panicked. A whole army against thetwoofthemlookedlikeverybadodds.“Master,whatarewegoingtodo?”hecried.

“Fearnot,”Elisha toldhim,“for they thatbewithusaremorethantheythatbewiththem”(verse16).

What is the very first thingwe are to do in trouble?Fearnot.Ifwefear,weopenthedoortothedevil.IfwetrustGod,weopenthedoortoGod.

Angels hearken to the voice of God’s Word. TheyrespondtotheWord!Sowhenyourheart is fullof faithand your mouth is saying, “A thousand may fall at myside, and ten thousandatmy righthand, but itwill notcome near me,” they put that Word into action andprotectyou.

OneofthemostexcitingscripturalexamplesofGod’sangelic, delivering and protecting power is found inDaniel 3, where we see three of God’s people in bigtroublewiththegovernment.ThekingoftheBabylonianempire had made an image and declared that, “Whosofalleth not down andworshippeth [that image], that heshouldbecastintothemidstofaburningfieryfurnace”(verse11).

NowthesethreemenofGod—Shadrach,MeshachandAbed-nego—happenedtobeontheking’sownstaff.TheywereHebrewswhohadbeencaptured.

ButGod’sblessingwasonthemtosuchadegreetheyhad been given great responsibility over the affairs of

Babylon. They served and trusted God. So despite theking’sdecree, theyrefusedtobowdowntothatimage.

NoticethatthesethreemenwerefaithfultoGod.Theyabode in Him. So when they were faced with danger, insteadofcryingandwhiningaboutittheyspokewordsoffaith.

Whenthekingthreatenedtothrowthemintothefieryfurnaceforrefusingtobowdowntohisidol, theysaid:“Ifit be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver usfromtheburningfieryfurnace, andhewilldeliverusoutofthinehand,Oking.Butifnot[evenifyoudon’tthrowus in], be it known unto thee, O king, that wewill notservethygods,norworshipthegoldenimagewhichthouhassetup”(verses17-18).

Inotherwords,theyrefusedtobowandtheyrefusedtobeafraid.Theysaid,“OurGodisabletodeliverus!”

That made the king so angry he had that furnaceheated seven times hotter than usual. The heat was sointense that the guards who threw Shadrach, MeshachandAbed-negointothefurnacewerekilledinstantly.

Andthesethreemen,Shadrach,Meshach,andAbed-nego, fell down bound into the midst ofthe burning fiery furnace. Then…the kingwasastonied, androseupinhaste, andspake, andsaiduntohiscounsellors,Didnotwecastthreemen bound into the midst of the fire?… Lo, Iseefourmenloose,walkinginthemidstofthefire,andtheyhavenohurt;andtheformofthefourthisliketheSonofGod(verses23-25).

Whydidn’tShadrach,MeshachandAbed-negoburn?Itcertainlywasn’tbecausethefirehadnopower.Ithadpower all right. It had enough power to kill themightymenintheking’sarmywhothrewthemintoit.ItjusthadnopoweroverthebodiesofGod’smen.Infact,theBibletellsusthatnotevena“hairoftheirhead[was]singed,neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of firehadpassedonthem”(verse27).

Abed-nego. He was a member of the royal staff ofBabylon just as they were. In fact, Daniel was one ofthree presidents of the empire, second only to the kinghimself.

Daniel had so much influence that other presidentsandprincesbecamejealousofhispositionandbegantolookforwaystohavehimremoved.ButtheBiblesaysnomatter how hard they looked “they could find noneoccasionnorfault;forasmuchashewasfaithful,neitherwasthereanyerrororfaultfoundinhim”(Daniel6:4).

Danielwasfaithful.HewasfaithfultoGodandinhisservicetotheking.Finally theofficialswhoweretryingtogetDaniel firedrealizedtheonlywaytheywereevergoingtogethimwastoforcehimtochoosebetweenGodandtheking.

Sothat’swhattheydid.Theysuggestedthekingpassa law that forbade anyone from making petition (orpraying) to anyone other than the king himself for 30days.Anyonewhobrokethelawwouldbethrownintoadenoflions.

Their suggestionappealed to theking’segosomuchthathesignedthelawonthespot—withouteventhinkingwhat itwouldmeantohis trustedadministrator,Daniel:“NowwhenDanielknewthatthewritingwassigned, hewent intohishouse, andhiswindowsbeingopen inhischambertowardJerusalem, hegotdownuponhiskneesthreetimesadayandprayedandgavethanksbeforehisGod, as he had done previously” (Daniel 6:10, TheAmplifiedBible).

Danielknewabouttheking’snewlaw, buthewouldn’tcompromise. He didn’t even choose to switch to silentprayer. He simply kept praying just the way he alwayshad.

WhentheothersreportedtothekingwhatDanielhaddone, the king was grieved. He trusted Daniel andrespectedhim.Hedidn’twanttothrowhimtothelions, but he had been tricked by his staff. He had trappedhimselfbyhisowndecreeandaccordingtothelawoftheMedesandPersians, itcouldnotbechanged(verse15).So “the king commanded, and Daniel was brought andcast into the den of lions. The king said toDaniel,Mayyour God, Whom you are serving continually, deliveryou!”(verse16,TheAmplifiedBible).

ButlookwhathappenedtoDaniel:And a stone was brought and laid upon themouth of the den, and the king sealed it withhis own signet.… Then the king went to hispalace and passed the night fasting; neitherwere instruments of music or dancing girlsbrought before him; and his sleep fled fromhim. Then the king arose very early in themorningandwent inhastetothedenof lions.AndwhenhecametothedenandtoDaniel,hecriedoutinavoiceofanguish.ThekingsaidtoDaniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, isyourGod,Whomyouservecontinually, abletodeliveryoufromthelions?ThenDanielsaidtotheking,Oking, liveforever!MyGodhassentHisangelandhasshutthelions’mouthssothatthey have not hurt me, because I was foundinnocent and blameless before Him; and alsobefore you, O king, [as you very well know] Ihave done no harm or wrong. Then the kingwas exceedingly glad and commanded thatDanielshouldbetakenupoutoftheden.…andnohurtofanykindwasfoundonhimbecausehe believed in (relied on, adhered to, andtrusted in) his God (Daniel 6:17-23, TheAmplifiedBible).

Daniel’sprotectionanddeliverancewasn’tjustaone-time thingGoddidbecauseHe likedDanielbetter thanmostotherpeople. Itwasn’tsomethingGoddidsoHe’dhave an interesting story to put in the Bible. GoddeliveredDaniel becauseHealways delivers thosewhoabideinHiminfaith.

You can trust God with your life. He’ll do the samething for you that He did for Daniel if—I said if—youabideinHiminfaith…trusting, expectingandconfessingHisprotectinganddeliveringpower.

anymore. But they are! They were present throughoutthe Old Testament—and they haven’t gone on vacationsincethen. If you want a New Testament example of their

activities,readActs12.Ittellsofaverydangeroustimein the history of the early Church. Peter had beenarrested and “therefore was kept in prison: but prayerwas made without ceasing of the church unto God forhim.AndwhenHerodwouldhavebroughthimforth, thesame night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers,boundwithtwochains:andthekeepersbeforethedoorkepttheprison”(verses5-6).It sounds like Peter was in a maximum security

In the natural, there was nopossibilityofescape.ButGod’speoplewereprayingandbelievingGod forhisprotectionand: “Behold, theangelof the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in theprison: and he smotePeter on the side, and raised himup, saying,Ariseupquickly.Andhischains felloff fromhishands”(verse7).That’sthewonderfulthingaboutGod’sprotection.You
