One day, some,me ago…
someone I respect
asked me a quest?on.
The ques,on…
to answer straight away.
Their Ques,on
wasn’t so easy
My friend asked me…
work you do?”
“Why do you do the
communicate more effec,vely”
Proudly I replied: “I like helping people
“Why?”
He asked.
it’s important.
Why?... Because
“Why?”
He asked again.
it gives people confidence.
Why?... Because
“What for?”
their values, ideas and beliefs.
So they can share
“Why do you want to help people do that?”
??
Because... it’s what I like
to do!
I said finally.
APer a moment, I said goodbye to my friend and headed off home.
I have to admit I was a liQle
irritated.
But I couldn’t stop thinking about his ques,on.
All the way home.
When I finally got home I just sat and thought.
and thought…
??
and thought some more..??? un,l the early hours of the following morning.
And then…
I went to bed.
I woke up
around noon the next day.
And that’s when the answer
came to me!
I wrote my friend an email
The WHY of What I Do.
I believe fear of others is behind the worst things human beings do to each other.
But fear of others is nearly always a symptom of misunderstanding and a lack of communica,on.
So, I help people to share their values, ideas & beliefs with confidence & clarity…
and in a way that increases understanding, empathy, engagement and mutual respect.
Because I hope that by helping people to communicate more effec,vely…
They will communicate more, and we will all become less afraid of each other.
So… Why do you do the work you do?
