The Journeys of ECV over the Summer Break

We may not have had the sunniest summer in Seattle this year, but that doesn’t mean that the members of ECV didn’t have fun. Find out how we stayed busy over the last few months.

Lars I traveled to Norway for two weeks to visit family. I saw the Nobel Peace center, swam with jellyfish, and ate lots of chocolate and cake. My favorite part of Norway was the mountainous city of Flåm. Known for it’s old railway and beautiful scenery, Flåm welcomes 1,500 visitors from around the world, each day. This picture is from a jet boat that I took in the Sognefjord.

Announcing the title of our CD: “Wassail While You Work”

We are getting very close to the release of our Christmas CD! With a combination of live and recorded tracks from the last two years, the CD is a great testament to all the hard work we’ve put in over the years.

Emily It was a busy summer for me, filled with lots of travelling, family, friends, and fun! In June, I spent a week in Pennsylvania to visit my mom's family for my cousin's wedding. Shortly after returning home, I was able to travel to North Carolina for 2 weeks to see my birth family (I'm adopted) in July. It was the first time we were all together in 6 years! It was fun to meet my new nieces and nephews and bond with my second family! To top off a great summer, I went down to Cannon Beach, OR, for a long weekend in August with friends. We had a great time at Andrew's family cabin, enjoyed our time at the beach, the day-trips to Seaside and Tillamook, and we even had beautiful weather!

Angela I went to Florida in June where I had adventures with grandma and cousins in DAILY 100 degree weather, including (but not limited to) going to a water park in Daytona, getting into a car accident on the way back from said water park in Daytona, creating an awesome work of art at the Bob Ross Painting Studio and a near encounter with a tornado in New Smyrna Beach. July and August adventures were had in western Washington with friends visiting from out of town. Highlights: a hike to Wallace Falls, a bonfire on Alki beach, swing dancing out in the parks, and singing with ECV at a Mariners game.

Pam Erich and I spent a magical portion of our summer at the Happiest Place on Earth! We met Mickey, stood in the spot where Erich proposed to me, and delighted in consuming delicious Churros! We’re counting the days until we can go back since it’s one of our favorite places in the world!

Summer BBQ On June 14th, we held our 1st Annual Summer BBQ! After getting over the fear of rain, we started the evening off with a set of songs that we had prepared for our spring season. Some classics like Kiss The Girl, and some new songs like Fyer, Fyer. Then the BBQing began. With Andrew on the grill and two tables of salads and deserts, everyone had a great time eating and catching up with each other. It was great to see everyone and we want to extend a special thanks to the Hoppers for lending their beautiful kitchen and backyard for the evening. We can’t wait to see you all again at...
