Unexplainable
A Mother's love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking.
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

Happy
Mother’s Day
Mark your calendars and plan to join us for a “Hymn
Sing” at 2PM Sunday, May 22nd
. We’ll sing your favorites
for an hour or so, but the music will remain in your heads and
hearts much longer than that. We especially encourage families to
bring their loved ones who have dementia or
memory problems because familiar music is often
enjoyable for them even when other things have
become too difficult. Invite your friends and
neighbors to come enjoy the singing, the
socializing, and the cookies and lemonade!

need is greater or shorter.
Those placed on Continuing Concerns are individuals with longer term
concerns expected to last 30 days or more and will remain here and receive
prayers for two months unless you specify that their need is greater or

Please send all church mail to P.O. Box 167, Belton, MO 64012. We no
longer have a mailbox on the property. Our mail forwarding at the Post
Office is expected to expire soon and when this happens the Post Office will
return mail addressed to 700 Quik Trip Way to the sender.
Did you know that we recycle paper and aluminum cans? The bins are
located at the corner on our driveway. Are you doing your part to help our
environment? If you are, thank you. If not, how about starting today?
Don’t let time slip away from you. NOW is the time to come to the aid of your
church by cleaning out every jam-packed closet and drawer in your house. We
need your gently used clothing and household items for the BIG CrossRoads sale on
Thursday, May 5; Friday, May 6 and Saturday May 7th.
We will accept your donations at the church from Sunday, May 1st after the
10:10 Worship Service through Thursday, May 5 at 8:00pm. We’d like to
borrow any tables, coat racks, etc. that you use for display when you have your
own garage sales. And we would also welcome assistance during these times if
sorting and organizing for a sale is your expertise. Please help us make this all-church
fundraiser a success.
And we’re not done asking yet! We need items for our bake sale. We’re sure our
Belton and Raymore neighbors would love to purchase your home-baked cookies,
pies, cakes, etc. Admit it. Yours is better than that sold at the store, isn’t it?
We also need workers who can help us make this a success: setting up, staffing some
hours of the sale, and helping us break down.
Please contact the office at 331-5258 or [email protected] and let
Susan know your willingness to donate your merchandise, your baked goods and
your time to help us stage a quality event. In these difficult times, this sale is a
win/win venture: we earn some “green”, we make items available for less “green”
to folks who need them, and we keep the earth “greener” by keeping things out of
the landfill.
Sign up TODAY! Contact the office NOW!

“A Mighty Fortress is Our God”
The people of Belton will join with millions of
people across our great nation in lifting up prayers
to God for our nation to be blessed and guided by
our Creator. The observance will take place in
the Belton City Hall Annex in Historic
Downtown Belton at 6PM on Thursday May
5th. We will also have a prayer walk from the
Assembly of God Church to City Hall that will begin
at 5:00PM. The theme for this year’s observance is
“A Mighty Fortress is Our God” and our Bible verse
is Ps. 91.2, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge
and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.
Join Boy Scout Troop 801, Mayor Jim Odom and
Christians from our great community as we lift our
voices to God in prayer.
Thanks to all who brought flowers and
those who placed flowers upon our
Easter Cross. He is risen indeed!
