The Report of the Librarian SELECTED ACQUISITIONS AT THE AMERICAN ANTIQUARIAN SOCIETY, 1981-82 IN HIS ANNUAL reports for 1981 and 1982 the librarian of the Society has reported only the statistics of the acquisitions of research materials at the Society. During those two years, 7,870 items were added to the collections. Gifts accounted for 2,741 pieces of this total and were valued at nearly $110,000. Also, the Society annually subscribed to 600 periodicals during those two years. Now, the librarian has bestirred himself and has made the highly subjective selection of materials which is printed below. The listing is intended to show not necessarily the most expen- sive or the most important items added, but materials which are representative of the kinds of research materials that we regularly obtain for the Society's library.
