THE HERITAGEOriginally built in the Italianate style in 1849, St. Clements has a long

and interesting history, during which time its different names and

functions, from workhouse to hospital, have reflected the many changes

HOW TO FIND US

By road from the City

Leave the City on the A11 Whitechapel High Street, signposted

Chelmsford, Stratford, Stansted M11. After approximately 1.8 miles,

pass under The Green Bridge (actually painted yellow!) and at the traffic

signals continue forward on the A11 Mile End Road. After around 0.2

miles you will arrive at St. Clements on your right.

By road from the north east, east and south east

Leave the A12 at the Bow Interchange and take the A11 Bow Road,

signposted Central London, Bow, Mile End. Continue forward for

approximately 1.2 miles and you will arrive at St. Clements on your left.

By London Underground

Take the Central, District or Hammersmith & City line to Mile End and

exit the station, turning right onto Mile End Road. After a walk of less

than 0.2 miles you will arrive at St. Clements on your right.

By Docklands Light Railway

Leave the Docklands Light Railway at Bow Church and exit the station

turning left onto Bow Road. After a walk of approximately 0.4 miles

you will arrive at St. Clements on your left.
