Electronic Diamond TesterHow It Works:

One of the properties unique to natural diamonds is the ability to con-

duct heat even more rapidly than copper and aluminium. No known dia-

mond simulants share this high thermal conductivity; like glass, for

example, they are typically poor conductors of heat.

Operation:

Gently contact the probe tip to the tested stone and wait for an indica-

tion. If the tested stone is a diamond, a beeping sound (beep-beep-

beep) will be emitted and pieces of the red level meter will light. If the

tested stone is not a diamond then there will be no beeping sound, and

no lamps will appear. Batteries to operate the device are supplied.

Metal Alert:

The thermal conductivity of metal is very high and can often give the

same indication as a diamond with most thermal probes. The 999

AJS’s advanced function will indicate when the probe tip has hit metal,

upon hearing a continuous alert simply retouch the probe tip to touch

only the stone.

To make life that little bit easier, the 999 AJS even includes a dia-

mond testing platform allowing loose stones to be tested. This is sim-

ply held with the hand as with a stone that is set in metal.
