-The German studio UFA state signs an agreement with the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation for screening their films in the U.S..

- The Toll of the Sea is the first feature film to be filmed in the system of two-color Technicolor.

- The explorer Robert Flaherty holds the world's first documentary, Nanook of the North, on the daily lives of a family of Eskimos.

1923:

-The screening of the film The Covered Wagon popularized the cowboy movies.

- The film of Cecil B. De Mille The Ten Commandments worth $ 1 million becomes a huge box office success.

- A real estate developer builds the word Hollywoodland in the hills of Los Angeles and later the word is shortened, standing as one of the most iconic symbols of the seventh art.

1924:

-Some movie theaters in the U.S. begin to plan sections double.

- Are created Gainsborough Studios in England, where Alfred Hitchcock was to make their first films.

- Begins to dawn Poverty Row, an area of Hollywood where staying at the offices of small producers, including Columbia Pictures.

- The production company Famous Players-Lasky begins to be overshadowed by its distributor Paramount, which has gained increasing power in the movie theaters that will be getting.

1925/1926:

-Dinosaurs make their first appearance in cinema screens in the film The Lost World, whose special effects are created by Willis O'Brien, who was later responsible for the effects of the movie King Kong.

-A reporter Louella Parsons begins his famous opinion column.

-Warner Brothers. launching a radio station, acquires Vitagraph and joins the Western Electric to develop a sound system for movies. - In the Battleship Potemkin, Sergei Eisenstein the director introduces the technique of assembly.

- Don Juan is the first film to use the Vitaphone sound system, only sound effects and music.

1927:

-The October 6th the first feature film soundtrack (The Jazz Singer), played by Al Jolson, the public response is extremely positive.

-Is created in the U.S., the Academy of Arts and Science of Moving Images, which will allocate in 1929 the first awards of excellence, known as Oscars.

-In Hollywood, opened the famous cinema Chinise The Theater and New York opens the largest movie theater with 6214 seats.

- Egypt produces its first feature film (Laila).

1928:

-Warner Brothers. House the first sound film and is totally responsible for all sound films produced this year.

- Using an improved sound system, Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks produced the cartoon Steamboat Willie.

-With the debut of his first sound film (Loves of an Actress), the actress Pola Negri.

-Paramount announced that from 1928 only produces films.

- For the first time you use a trailer with sound to announce the film Tenderloin.

-The Academy of Arts and Sciences held the first ceremony of the Oscars.

-King Vidor made the first sound film with only black actors.

-On With the Show, Warner, is the first musical sound in color.

- The number of spectators in France tripled between the end of World War I and 1929.

- Alfred Hitchcock performs Blackmail, the first English sound film.
