“This is a good place to visit, to come frequently, and to remain”

On Monday, January 2, 2017 the Volunteers in Mission Team from Beth Eden UMC & Centen-nial UMC from Rockford, IL left for Chile to work on a mission project. We’ve prayed for these 19 people that would be working in construction, painting, vacation bible school, clinic days, and revival worships.

"...and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

After 30 hours they arrived safely to Lonco-che, Chile. 11 pieces of their luggage were left in Atlanta, but they started working any-way!

Page 1

And the work began!! Clinic Days went very well. The medical team saw over 57 patients. Our team worked hard and shared God's love with the community.....we were thankful for this opportunity God gave us.

More Construction!

Sunday is the day of the Lord. We had the opportunity to praise His Name in three different Methodist communities: Loncoche, Carahue, and Pichihue. It was a full day, but we were happy to get to know new brothers and sisters in Christ. We ended our day having dinner in Fabiola’s parent's house in Labranza. Praise Be to God!!

On Thursday, January 12 it was time to return to Chicago. It was a wonder-ful time of work, fellowship, and friendship between brothers and sisters in Christ. We give thanks to God for all that we accomplished with his help and guidance......we continue building God's Kingdom wherever we are.

Page 4

The UMVIM team to Loncoche, Chile has returned to Rockford, thanks be to God!! We had a blessed time with brothers and sisters in Christ. The team was won-derful and we accomplished a lot, with God's help. Some of the activities our team did:

- Building of Sunday School classrooms - Painting of the Sanctuary - 70 patients were seen by the medical team - 28 kids were part of the VBS - Our medical team took blood pressure to 50 people in a park. - Revival worships in church for 3 nights.

Pastor Mario, Pastor Fabiola, Pedro, and Paulina will be on va-cation until February 14, 2017. If during this time you need anything at all, please call the of-fice. If Sherry is not in the office leave a message as she will be

checking the machine often! We have two pastors that will be on call and will be happy to assist in any way they can.

Our 9 days of mission were wonderful. The only sad experience is that one of our team members broke her ankle in our day of tour. We brought her to 2 hospitals and she needed surgery. The surgery was done in Rockford. The hot springs company covered all the expenses involved in Chile. Thank you for your prayers and support. Peace, Rev. Fabiola Grandon-Mayer Rev. Mario Mayer Team Leaders
