HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH First Reading: Gn 15:1-6, 21: 1-3 Abram shows us the Lord keeps His promises, for his offspring were indeed many, like the stars in heaven. We, too, must trust in the Lord, so like Abram, our families might prosper. Second Reading: Hebrews 11:8, 11-12, 17-19 By faith Abraham and Sarah were blessed with Isaac, and through him, many descendants because they trusted in God’s promise and believed in what they could not see. We see that faith, trust and prayer bring forth God’s miracles in our lives. Gospel: Luke 2:22-40 Jesus was brought to Jerusalem to be consecrated according to the law of Moses. A man named Simeon had learned he would not die until he had seen God’s anointed. Upon seeing Jesus, he immediately declared he had witnessed “the glory of your people of Israel.” The prophetess Anna also gave thanks and spoke of Jesus to all who would listen. Both recognized the power of Jesus, although he was still an infant.

News of Great Joy…

It is with great blessing and excitement that we announce the appointment of Fr. Joe Tyrrell as Pastor of St Patrick Parish. It is common when a priest steps into leadership of a Parish suddenly, that the Bishop name him Administrator, as was the case with Fr Joe. Only when the Cardinal feels that the priest is a good fit for the Parish, will he appoint him as Pastor. Fr. Joe’s term formally began on Christmas Day. This seems appropriate as the announcement was a wonderful gift for our Parish.

A Christmas Thank you…

From Father Joe & Gemma…

Gemma and I would like to express our gratitude, and gratefulness, for all the goodies and gifts that we have received, during this Christmas season. We are truly blessed to be a part of this parish and this community. Gemma has received a great selection of snacks, dog biscuits, toys and bandanas. I received a great selection of gifts too. Thank you for thinking of us at Christmas. (And… to the anonymous giver of the tie…ha ha …) thank you…

Giving is Giving

…From an Angel Giving Tree Recipient and her family… Church of St. Patrick, We cannot thank everyone enough for the wonderful donations on behalf of your church. The kind hearts who have helped us is a true blessing to our family. We are beyond thankful and at a loss for words to express how amaze we feel to have you all be so thoughtful with the children’s gifts and food. Unfortunately, before our little one arrived, I lost my job and things at home got extremely tight. Your help made our Holiday Season be able to be a good memory and not worrisome! We would love to attend Mass when able to, hope to meet you all soon. Cornwall on Hudson – Family of Four
