The Rosary Catholic Primary School

14th September 2018

Christ Jesus, you call us to follow you.

May we have the courage to answer

that call, even in the most difficult

times.

Amen.

Weekly Prayer and Reflection – 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B

Mark 8:27-35 Reflection taken from Cafod Children’s Liturgy

Jesus asks his friends, the disciples, a question. He asks them who

people think He is. Jesus then asks the disciples who they think he is.

Peter believes that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. He has faith in

Jesus.

But then Jesus starts to tell the disciples about what will happen to him.

That he will suffer and be killed, but that after three days he will rise

again. Peter struggles to believe all this - he does not want to believe

that his friend, the Son of God, will suffer and die. Peter feels afraid that

Jesus might leave them. And he wants to protect Jesus from harm

because he cares about him.

It is sometimes hard to do what God wants us to do, just like it was for

Peter, because we are afraid, and we do not want to get hurt, or for

those that we love to be hurt.

Jesus tells us that it will not always be easy to follow him, but that we

must have courage, because God will always be with us.

Parking

We would like to remind parents to avoid driving

down the slip road in front of the school. Please

use the entrance via Winchester Avenue to access

the church car park. Parents are asked not to

park across residents’ drives or in front of the

gates to the church. Traffic wardens are now

patrolling The Green and issuing tickets. Thank

you.

MacMillan Coffee Morning

We will be holding our annual MacMillan Coffee Morning

on Friday 28 September. We would be very grateful for

donations of cakes to sell at the event. It’s also a great

opportunity to get to know other parents over a cup of

coffee and a slice of cake. We look forward to seeing you

there.

Secondary Transfer 2019

We would like to thank all the Year 6

parents who came to the meetings we held

on Tuesday. We have sent packs out to the

parents who were unable to attend. A copy

of the presentation and the Diocesan

booklet (How to Apply for a Catholic

Secondary School) as well as the

information booklet from the Borough are

available to view from our website:

www.rosary.hounslow.sch.uk

Please remember to visit all the schools

before submitting your application to the

Borough.

Ms Braggs, the headteacher of Gumley

House Convent School for Girls, is visiting the school on Monday 17th

September to talk to Year 6 girls and their parents at 2pm in the Junior

Hall.

Unfortunately, we are now unable to send text messages to parents.

Parents are encouraged to download the free Parent Hub app. This is a

free app that helps keep you up to date with what’s going on at school.

You will receive messages, pictures, documents and newsletters, all in

one handy place. There is no need to sign up to all the channels

when you register as we have already linked your child/ren to

the app. If you do register for all the channels, it will mean that you
