The Ride of Respect
The Founders of the Ride of Respect, The
Royal British Legion and The Royal British
Legion Riders Branch are delighted to
announce that the Ride of Respect 2014 will
take place on Sunday, 1st of June 2014, from
Dalton Barracks in Oxfordshire.
Registration will be available online from
Saturday, 12th October 2013.
We need volunteers for all manner of roles as
we will be supporting the Founders and the
Unity Support Riders at the Assembly Area at
Dalton Barracks and on the Ride itself.
In addition, the RBLR will be organising and
running the Ride's End Event at Carterton,
which will need a number of members to assist
here too.

If you have any questions about anything to do
with the Ride of Respect, please contact
Sheepy on [email protected] Don't forget
(and this is brilliant), all funds raised from the
Ride of Respect will be credited to the RBLR
Poppy Appeal total and will go a long way
towards us achieving our 10yr MILLION total,
so the more volunteers we get, the more likely
we are to make this a massive success and
bring in much-needed funds for our
Beneficiaries.

Stonebroom Carnival
Stonebroom , Derbyshire, Will be putting on a
village carnival on Saturday 14th June 2014.
The aim of the carnival is to re-ignite the
community spirit of the village. It will be the
first of its kind held in the village for
approximately 30 years.
To help launch this endeavour, they have
invited the Riders Branch to attend (and add
some colour), with the county gazebo and as
many riders as possible to support the event.
All funds raised (by the riders), will be in aid
of The Poppy Appeal.
There will be a parade through the village at
10:30am, and the main event being on the
village green from 12 mid-day to 5pm
(although festivities may spill over into the
evening).
Derbyshire County Rep is of the opinion that
this is an ideal opportunity to advertise who
we are, who the beneficiaries of the poppy
appeal are and what we do to aid "the" cause.
Your support for this event in this busy year
would be much appreciated. Those kindly
willing to lend their support and valuable time,
please let me (Dave) know.

SERVICES
Halo Smart Protect is a unique treatment system developed and supplied by All Year Biker.
We all know winter road salt is a killer for bikes, but here are a few things you might
not be aware of:
During the rest of the year environmental fall-out, sea spray and even animal
waste can cause corrosion.
In certain conditions animal waste on the roads can be up to 3 times more
corrosive than road salt.
Washing alone will not prevent corrosion, in fact trapped cleaning water can
often start the process.
Corrosion rarely ‘starts’ where you can see it but once established it can spread
alarmingly fast.
There is now a Lincolnshire based Operative so you can have your bike treated without
having to travel miles. Trevor Bridgwood (Riders Branch Member) is based just outside
Lincoln and covers LN, DN and some NG postcodes. If you are interested in getting
your bike protected then give me a call. For more information visit the All Year Biker
