Magnusson Klemencic Associates, MKA, an international award-winning structural and civil engineering firm was retained by Ortigas & Company to provide state of the art structural design (Performance Based Structural Design) for the The Royalton at Capitol Commons
STRUCTURAL TEAM
MKA formed a team consisting of geotechnical and seismic expert Treadwell & Rollo (T&R) and wind expert Rowans Williams Davies and Irwin (RWDI) to evaluate the seismicity and wind climate in the area.
STRUCTURAL DESIGN
The Royalton superstructure is composed of steel-reinforced concrete construction specifically detailed to resist earthquake and typhoon wind forces.

steel outriggers that broaden the stance of the building, to enhance stability, while also acting as ‘shock absorbers,’ to dissipate earthquake and wind energy.”
