Globalization preambleLanguages are based on characters, their principals terminologies are:
• Encoding Scheme• Coded Character Set Identifier (CCSID)
• Character Set (CS)• Code Page (CP)

Globalization preambleWhat really matters technically is:

Globalization preambleWhat really matters in your app is:
• Switching between languages
• Storing/printing/displaying every language’s characters

Globalization preambleIssue1: Switching between languages
The conventional way to switch between languages is to use Message-files…
If your app wasn’t designed for it, could you reasonably integrate them?
But remember that message-files cannot store Unicode

Globalization preambleIssue2: Storing/printing/displaying every language’s characters
Conventional 5250 emulators have no UNICODE capabilities. Only the terminal character set can by display. This enables only one language to be displayed on the screen at a time.
