There are special events to attend, trips to go on, new groups and classes being planned, and endless opportunities to meet new friends and get involved! A new season is also time for change. Our Free Friday lunch program, as successful as it has been in bringing new people to Sam’s Café, will come to an end as of September 26th. We hope now that you’ve gotten a taste of our delicious kosher meals, you will contin-ue to join us regularly despite the suggested donation of $2.50 per meal. We are pleased to announce that starting in November 2019, Keren G. Birnbaum, Esq. will be offering 10-15 minute consultations for participants in our Older Adult Programs who may need some guidance on how to address their long term planning concerns. These meetings will be held on a bi-weekly basis at various program locations across our agency, and will be by appointment only.

The first site will be the Sam Field Neighborhood Senior Center in Little Neck on November 8th.

In order to make the best of everyone’s time, and to allow the attorney to be prepared with any resource information that might be of help to you, please let Roberta know when you call what you are particularly interested in discussing with Ms. Birnbaum, e.g. living wills, trusts, power of attorney, etc.

Having concerns about memory loss and other effects of getting older? We can help!

The OASIS program will provide you with the

opportunity to meet with a team of

specialists including an LIJ Medical Center

geriatric physician for a FREE evaluation.

This team is trained to recognize signs of

memory loss, depression and changes in older

adults which can be easily overlooked or

misunderstood in other clinical settings.

After this FREE consultation, the OASIS team will

help connect you to services needed to maximize

independence and quality of life. OASIS is unique

because it addresses the “whole person” in

order to connect you and your family with

appropriate resources to meet your needs.
