The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce has definitely pulled out all the stops to bring tourists in to our communities with the 2014 summer tourism campaign. With so many great destinations in New York State, the Saratoga County Chamber’s goal is to make sure that Saratoga County stands out and gets in front of visitors with a fully integrated promotional campaign. The 2014 campaign consists of online advertising, retargeting ads, mobile ads, pre-roll video, a social media presence and messaging on all of our channels with cus-tom cover photos and a dedicated website. The majority of the funds for this campaign come from Saratoga County. For more than 25 years, the Saratoga County Chamber has been designated by the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors as the County’s tourism promotion agency. This designation, along with funds from county occupancy tax collections, have been spent

entirely on marketing, advertising and fulfillment. Besides County funding, the campaign also receives support from New York State’s I Love NY matching grant fund program. We also annually secure private support to further expand our marketing reach. In 2014, we have a record number of private sector partners as well as the highest amount ever in private contributions toward this new ad campaign. Our private sector advertising partners in 2014 include; Saratoga Race Course (NYRA), Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Casino and Raceway, Saratoga National Golf Course, Saratoga Polo, the Holiday Inn - Saratoga Springs, Hampton Inn and Suites - Saratoga Springs Downtown, Pavilion Grand Hotel, Gideon Putnam Resort and Spa, Saratoga Hilton, Courtyard by Marriott - Saratoga Springs and Saratoga Arms.

Other elements to keep Saratoga top of mind when choosing a destination to visit include an overall contest to win a vacation getaway to Saratoga, individual contests offered by the advertising partners, an email campaign, a check-in campaign using #ilovesaratoga, videos to promote sharing the initial contest video and #ilovesaratoga check-ins, as well as a tele-vision ad promoting the destination and mid-week racing packages.By closely monitoring the conversion results and analytics we can make chang-es as needed to drive optimal engage-ment. Labeled by many of our long-stand-ing private sector partners as “the most innovative and comprehensive tourism advertising campaign they’ve ever seen for Saratoga County,” we’re hopeful that inter-est and occupancy in lodging establish-ments across the county will increase in 2014.

Any questions about the projects or the Leadership Saratoga program should also be sent to Kathleen Fyfe, 28 Clinton Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, 584-3255 x 201.
