“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at

the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:13).

Surprisingly, five years have passed since I came to Edmond to work with SEARCH. Each year has presented challenges

and blessings. Though I had media experience with both radio and television before I came to SEARCH, I found a whole new challenge here. I had come out of a regional broadcast market to a national and international one. That changed everything.

I’m so grateful for the support I have received from my co-workers here. Mack Lyon has ever encouraged and enabled me to pursue this ministry, and I am deeply grateful to him. I have learned greatly from his uncompromising faith and from his example as a preacher. Chris, his son, has been a constant source of information and help. He is my true partner in this effort.

I owe much to Sam Clark for his mentoring me in the practical aspects of producing a program from script to studio. He has been my agent, my counselor, and my friend. I greatly appreciate Kerry Campbell, Craig Dodgen, and Brian Berry for their deep commitment to the production of SEARCH on television, on the internet, and in the printed page. My colleague, Jerry Campbell, who provides much in this ministry and composes the study sheets, has been a constant blessing in my life. I have been ever thankful to Donna Demos, Barbara Campbell, Kendal Edmison, Amanda Edmison, and Paige Cain for their tireless efforts as secretaries and receptionists.

Please help SEARCH to continue to preach the Lord Jesus Christ and the gospel for many years to come by putting us in your budget each month. We continue to need your prayers and your financial support! We are grateful for your continued support and pray the coming year will be our best yet!

After Five Years

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." So wrote the apostle Paul to the Christians in Philippi. He went on to say, “l thank my God upon every remembrance of you always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now.”

The “fellowship” for which Paul was thankful is from the word meaning “partnership,” “sharing in common" and in some Bible passages it references simply a “contribution.” That is what is meant here.

l am inspired to be as thankful as Paul was by the many contributions SEARCH receives here every month accompanied by a little note like this one from N. Little Rock, AR which says: "We do like to think in some small way we’re helping reach out to the lost."

Oh! You are! Indeed you are, partner! Every dollar you send here helps keep the SEARCH program on the air somewhere! And don’t ever let anyone tell you there’s nobody listening to you. Also, you deserve to know I, personally, do not receive one cent from whatever sum you send. The Edmond, OK church, for whom I’m truly thankful, fully supports me in my ministry for Christ.

Not only are you a partner with the SEARCH staff, you are on a team of thousands of other Christians, preaching the gospel to the lost 24/7. SEARCH LightThe 2

Welcome to the SEARCHLIGHT 2014! From the staff at SEARCH, we wish you the best of the New Year! As we begin 2014, we are excited about continuing to use every available form of mass media to share the Gospel of Christ with all who will listen. SEARCH now reaches all around the globe utilizing radio, television and the internet. When we consider the weekly outreach of IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY, we are truly humbled by the power of GOD who deserves all the praise for what HE has allowed SEARCH to do in the last thirty plus years.

As we look forward to 2014, we are thankful for the opportunity to have our booth at the Freed-Hardeman Lectureship in February. If you have the opportunity to visit the campus of Freed-Hardeman during this time, we encourage you to attend. The lectures are presented by some of the best preachers in the brotherhood. The attendees and students are a pleasure to be with, much like family; what a wonderful thought—a Christian family!

One of our SEARCH staff members just asked me to remind everyone that when you call in to request a copy of the program PLEASE specify audio CD or booklet. SEARCH gets hundreds of requests each month and in many cases it is not clear what is wanted. In these instances the booklet will be sent as it is less expensive to mail. The SEARCH staff is serious about the requests received and our intent is to fill each one in a timely and accurate manner. Please allow four to six weeks for delivery.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for this ministry! As Mack Lyon has stated for so many years, “IN SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY is built on the TRUTH in LOVE.”

In HIM........Chris Lyon

Topics subject to change without notice

FEB 2 – ACCOUNTABLE TO GODOne day, when your life is over, you must

give account to God for how you’ve lived. God will judge each one from His teaching in the Scriptures. He will repay each one for how he has lived.

FEB 9 – FREEDOM IN CHRISTPaul said, “It was for freedom that Christ set

us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” Today we’re going to take a serious look at what it means to be free in Christ.

FEB 16 – WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?When this life is over, we will look back at

our lives wondering what we have done that mattered. Many spend their entire lives pursuing empty paths, but the one who is faithful to God pursues righteousness. What have you done?

FEB 23 – BE WISESome define wisdom as the art of living

successfully in life. The wisdom that comes from God, however, is the wisdom we most need. Wisdom begins with God and one’s faith in Christ as Lord and Savior.

SEARCH OF THE LORD’S WAY®

TEMPLE, TX “Thank you for what you do. We enjoy your T.V. program every Sunday Morning.”

READYVILLE, TN “We would like to send a onetime contribution. The Lord has blessed us this past year and our prayer is In Search of the Lord’s Way will continue its good work of spreading the gospel of God.”

CRIVITZ, WI “I have enjoyed listening to your lessons on the CD’s (In Search of the Lord’s Way). I also enjoyed the songs. Sometimes I am not able to attend services for lack of transportation. I live nearly 60 miles away from the building. Therefore, I listen to your CD’s. Thanks.”

RINGGOLD, GA “Thanks for your work in spreading the Word of the Lord.”

heard. Have family that needs to hear it again … Your message is the best on T.V. God bless all of you. I’m so happy to be in the church.”

GURLEY, AL “Thank you for sending the booklet 'Together for Life' and the CD of the October lessons on marriage. I watch every Sunday morning. It helps me to “set my mind” for worship. You all present the Truth in such a kind and loving way.”

WACO, TX “We pray this finds you and yours well and prospering in the blessings of our Lord. Please find enclosed our monthly support check for the month of November, 2013 for In Search of the Lord’s Way television program. We pray this money will be a blessing to the work that they are doing for the Lord and that many souls will be touched. We pray for you and your oversight in this area of work. May God bless you and keep you in His care.”

ARLINGTON, TX “We listen to the program nearly every Sunday morning before attending our church. We are in our 80’s and don’t always go. With so much effort and money being sent to foreign countries for mission work, it is a blessing on my part to help support a work here in the U.S., which is still very white unto the harvest – Christian Love.”

MUSKOGEE, OK “I love the mail I receive from you. I know you are doing a good work and I wish that I could help more. (P.S.) I record your program on Sunday to watch later. Have heard many good things about Phil’s lessons when he travels.”

HIXSON, TN “Please send me a CD of the program on the church. I think Phil explained the best I have
