Some people are born stylish, some people achieve style, but no one can have style thrust upon them…. It comes from within.

As Coco Chanel one said, ‘Fashion fades, only style remains the same.’ But how do you get a sense of style? It can’t be bought, no matter how much you spend, as many a Hollywood actress has learnt the hard way, caught by the paparazzi in another too-revealing designer dress. Nor can you employ someone to find it for you. The good news is that style can be developed. It’s not easy to be a style icon. Unfortunately for women nowadays we don’t have the fashion uniforms our mother and grandmothers enjoyed or inured!Today there is too much choice and it’s all to easy to get it wrong with someone always ready to pass judgment on our fashion faux pas.However if you can stick to some hard and fast rules with some constructive criticism along the way then these handy classical fashion tips will stand you in good stead. Don’t look for clothes you fit into, find clothes that fit you. No one looks good in clothes that don’t fit. No matter how expensive or well made.T-shirts that our to tight will make your chest look like two pigs wrestling under a blanket.Never, buy clothes you intend to slim into cut the label out if you don’t like the number on it, its only a label BUY WHAT FITS!!!!

JeansIt’s difficult to find a garment as widely embraced, worn and loved the world over as jeans. The classic symbol of the American West is now a staple in wardrobes around the world. Cowboys may wear them but so do supermodels, farm-ers, presidents and housewives. They are comfortable, durable and easy but also worn right they’re sexy and cool.A bad pair of jeans is the least flattering item of clothing in the world. A good pair is the most. Men should never iron jeans, women always should, but not, as some fashions have deemed, with a crease down the front. We’re talking a once-over, not a starch effect.

Most department stores do it free so add it high up on your to do list and get it done.Like clothes bras can differ in size brand to brand so try before you buy. A well-fitted bra should have no gaps or bulges. For most of us a little padding can be a necessity but don’t over do it or you will end up looking like a brazen hussy – not really what were after! Wear G-strings under trousers, big pants under flowing skirts and nothing under skin-tight dresses. Invest in tights with built in gusset.Avoid wearing no knickers under a short dress unless you can guarantee sitting still in one place, legs demurely crossed. Above all never walk up a staircase if you have no underwear on.

Jewellery – Dripping with ClassThe most enduring accessory of all is jewellery. There are a few things to bear in mind when buying shoes: There are only two kinds of heels worth taking seriously: very high, or very low The most popular height for stiletto heels is between 4 & 4 ½ inches.

Gym attireTrainers are for the gym only and like trainers, the shell suit is not memo-rable for its style.Don’t wear logo sportswear unless you are a professional athlete; In fact don’t wear any kind of slogan that should be spoken not read off your chest.Resist the lure of lycra, wear baggy sweat pants no shiny leotard and thong ensemble, you will only look like a sausage that is about to burst.No make-up in the gym, rivulets of sweat are natural however unattractive, however streaks of foundation and mascara is not the look your after. Hey, forget the gym and go swimming instead, once your in no one can tell what size you are and all physiques can move gracefully in the water.

An to EndAfter reading my little tips I hope that you are convinced that looking good, dressing up and having fun with clothes is a pleasure no woman should deny herself. But I’m not advocating becoming one of those women imprisoned by her need to look perfect every second of her life. Chance would be a fine thing!A sence of style is not about obsessing over the latest fashions… and find-ing your own style may not be as difficult as you might have thought.Once you’ve found it, you will always know you’ve got it even when you are dressed in your baggy old jeans and husbands shirt, cleaning the house on a Sunday. Of course there are certain types of times – ex-boyfriends wedding, fortieth birthday party, job interview-when dressing to kill will give you that edge.

Remember that style will come from inside, so until you are happy in your own skin, you won’t look good in anyone else’s.
