The Altos (dinner theater)by David Landau; music and lyrics by Nikki Stern
Meet the family that inspired it all, the Altos. It’s Tony’s funeral (or is it?) and his wife Toffee has invited you to the wake. Chris wants you should check your weapons at the door (and if you don’t have any, he’s got extras!), Uncle Senior has a rigged dice game going and Tony’s Ma is, well, just nuts. Tony’s shrink Dr. Malaise is giving free analysis and the Father isn’t sure what he is doing! But one thing is for sure, almost no one seems sad that Tony is gone and they certainly don’t seem happy once he’s discovered alive. Be prepared to dodge bullets, laugh at the songs and see if you can’t figure out who put a contract out on Tony! Directed by Tom Littlefield.
November 8–18Norway Grange, Norway
World Premiere: The Road to Eden’s Ridge: a new musicalby Sally Jones and Steve Jones; based on the novel by M.L. Rose
Tongues in the Oxford Hills are wagging when Lindsey Frost jilts her fiance at the altar. But when Lindsey follows her dreams to make music in Nashville, she also discovers some long hidden truths about her family. This story will come to life in November, when, for the first time ever, OHMPAA will premiere a brand new two act romantic musical, The Road to Eden’s Ridge. This three-year project is the work of Sally Jones and Steve Jones, who secured the stage rights from the book’s authors. We look forward to presenting the The Road To Eden’s Ridge; we hope you’ll make plans to be in the audience. Directed by Sally Jones and Steve Jones.

Director’s NoteWell, here we are again. This season, OHMPAA is providing you with a varied selection. Jake’s Women was a fairly serious play about the inner working of a writer’s mind. This fall, The Altos will be our dinner theater offering, and later, we will present the world premiere of an original musical, The Road to Eden’s Ridge.
The Senator Wore Pantyhose is a political farce, just in time for election season. We’ve had a terrific time putting this show together; there’s been much laughter and the cast has become very close .
As always, we thank you for taking time from your very busy lives to join us. As is often said, without you, there would be no us!
Please enjoy laughing with us—and at us!!
KS
Meet the CastChris Alberi (Paddy McMutton) Chris is happy to be back on the OHMPAA stage after finishing his first year as a music education major at Plymouth State University. Favorite roles for Chris include Hysterium in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Bobby Child in Oxford Hills School-Community Broadway Show’s Crazy for You. In his free time, you will find Chris practicing his saxophone, living vicariously through Anthony Bourdain, cleaning the undercarriages of old cars and scrubbing white walls. He sends a huge thanks to Kenn for another opportunity to play and to the cast for all the fun!
Claire Cummings (Nellie, the wayward girl) This is Claire’s second show with OHMPAA; she played a hysteri-cal bride in Marriage Can Be Murder last fall. She loves performing with her mother, especially when she loses her script and needs to borrow one! Claire is looking forward to spending all summer outdoors, soaking up sunshine before returning to Wellesley College in the fall.
Collin Michael Miclon (Tom Gordon) Collin, son of Michael Miclon, grew up in the Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield. There he saw and participated in many perfor-mances over the course of fourteen years. In high school, he was part of the drama club all four years, in produc-tions such as Arsenic and Old Lace, Guys and Dolls, Noises Off and many others.
Cynthia Reedy (Susan Sandalson) CCR is delighted to share the stage once more with Steve, Ian, Chris, Rachael and her darling daughter, Claire. She has enjoyed getting to know Ron, Mike, Dennis and Collin in this political “thrillah.” Off-stage, Cindy is celebrating her 25th year at Hebron Academy—go ‘Jacks! Favorite shows include Grand Night for Singing, Almost Maine and the Odd Couple. Favorite roles—Mom to Charlie, Claire and Tom and wife to Brad.
Dennis Boyd, Jr. (Rev. Jimmy Takker) Dennis is happy to be coming back to OHMPAA for his second appearance with the group. After performing in 10 different musicals and music directing four, this is Dennis’s first non-musical ever. By light of day, Dennis is director of choirs, grades 7
through 12 at Oxford Hills Middle School and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Dennis would like to thank family, friends, colleagues and students for all of their support. In addition, Dennis thanks fellow cast mates and OHMPAA members for getting him into this! To the audi-ence, get involved in local theater and music and find your passion again!
Ian Griffith (“Honest” Gabe Sandalson) You may recog-nize Ian from his numerous OHMPAA shows, but most recently as John Smith in Run for Your Wife last spring. Other past shows include Man of La Mancha and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Ian would like to thank his parents for, once again, feeding him three times a week, and his girlfriend, Aimee, for putting up with not seeing him that much over the last two months. He would also like to thank his bosses at Office Max for allowing him the time to put into these shows. Last, he would like to thank everyone in the cast and crew—you’re a blast to work with! P.S. This may be the only time you’ll see me in drag! Enjoy it while it lasts!
Judy V. Nyl (Reverend’s Aide) This is Judy’s first appear-ance on the OHMPAA stage and we’re betting that it won’t be the last! No stranger to the entertainment busi-ness, Judy was a movie extra in Spiderman 3, Sea Biscuit and The King’s Speech. Although she has a pathological fear of sharp objects, Judy is an avid balloonist and loves to curl up with a big bowl of hot air popcorn. “Apologies to Norman for that big blowup—love you! Enjoy the show, everyone!”
Mike Porter, Jr. (Tony Pinella) More of a “behind-the-scenes” guy, the character of Tony is Mike’s first acting role! When not dazzling the community with his acting, Mike is the Youth Director at Poland Baptist Church. He has built sets for various community plays, from Bye, Bye, Birdie and The Music Man to most recently, I Do! I Do! He enjoys free time traveling with his new wife, Sarah, play-ing hockey, and shooting sports. Personal thanks to wife Sarah, his parents and to Sally Jones for encouraging him to push himself in new endeavors.
Rachael Leighton (Fanny Mae Takker) Rachael is glad to be onstage again for the fifth time. Some past roles include Pearl in Prisoner of Second Avenue, Maria in Lend Me a Tenor, her favorite, Mary in Run for Your Wife, and most recently as a disembodied voice in Jake’s Women. In real life, she is a records clerk at Maine Correctional Center and she desperately wishes she could play the banjo! Rachael hopes that everyone has as much fun with this show as she has, and thanks everyone who continues to give her opportunities to play.
Ron Blake (Dan Blather) Ron most recently sang with Damn Yankees with the Oxford Hills School-Community Broadway Show group. In the twelve years he’s lived in Maine, he’s sung with the Hillsmen Barbershop group, and with the Christmas for Teens benefit concerts. In Florida, where he grew up, he sang with Carol Dulgar Entertainment where they contracted to Disney World as “The Voices of Liberty” in their resort hotels.
Steve Sessions (Chauncy Quince) When Steve first got involved with OHMPAA in 1996, he never thought he’d still be on stage this many years later. He keeps coming back because this organization has an ethic that he likes. OHMPAA puts on good shows with limited resources, and has a good time doing it! Steve wishes to thank his family for their support, and thanks his friends in OHMPAA who make this a good experience, on and off stage. He hopes you all enjoy the show as much as he has enjoyed doing it for you.

Love theater, but not an actor? Are you drawn to theater even though your acting career began and ended when you played Snowflake Number 3 in the second grade holiday play? Do you like to get things done, make a difference, be involved?
Be a producer!Producers help the director bring his or her creative vision to life. They manage the budget, supervise promotion, coordinate set construction and decoration, find produc-tion staff and handle many other tasks, large and small, that are vital to the success of any show.
OHMPAA policy requires two producers for each show, at least one of whom is a board member. If you would like to learn more, feel free to speak to any board member. This year’s producers are: Kathy Davis, Shelly Shibles, Norman Hutchins, Terry Cole, Jeff Orwig and Susan Alberi.
And you can rekindle your acting career by giving the producers’ welcome speech to start each performance!
