The Beard Contestwas kicked off with a registration night in January duringwhich several gentlemen subjected themselves to closescrutiny by judges Kristi Bush, Debbie McLoughlin, JulieSalisbury and Heather Wolf. They were thorough but didn’ttake themselves too seriously.

The Dress Contest is also underway with participants

entering dresses in both a homemade and a store purchasedcategory. Winners will be awarded excellent prizes, butin the end both contests are designed to be a fun way tocelebrate Shepherd’s Sesquicentennial.

Other competitions during Sesquicentennial weekendinclude a tractor pull, lawn tractor pull, and a horse pull.
