The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) is pleased to invite you to this premier event, the Sixth International Conference on Condition Monitoring and Machinery Failure Prevention Technologies.

The conference is being organised by BINDT in close co-operation and partnership with the US Society for Machinery Failure Prevention Technology (MFPT). This combination of the efforts of two leading organisations creates the largest event of its kind at a truly international level and builds on the highly successful series of international condition monitoring conferences (CM2001, CM2003, CM2005, CM2007 and CM2008) organised by BINDT and highly successful 62 annual conferences organised by the Society for MFPT.

■ Plenary keynote addresses■ Plenary distinguished invited presentations■ Specialised keynote addresses (for structured session organisers)■ Invited presentations■ Contributed presentations, including case study presentations■ World-leading sessions for major industrial sectors, including a session for the BINDT certification scheme■ Expert panel sessions on hot topics in condition monitoring, organised by recognised scientists and engineers■ Extensive exhibition and vendor presentations■ Social events ■ Poster presentations (subject to decision of the Local Organising Committee)

S u b m I t A P A P e r

All abstracts and papers will be subject to peer review by members of the international scientific advisory committee. All approved papers will appear in the conference proceedings. Papers will be published only upon receiving the full registration fee and a signed copyright form (provided by BINDT upon acceptance of abstract) before 17th April 2009.

Selected papers may be published in the BINDT international journal Insight and the International Journal of Condition Monitoring or other International journals. Papers related to ‘case studies’ may be published in the BINDT newsletters Condition Monitor and NDT News.

For authors unable to attend the conference, papers may be submitted for publication in the conference proceedings, at a cost of only £100.00 plus VAT.

Brief proposals for structured sessions and expert panel sessions should be submitted by recognised professionals. Proposals should include a title, author(s), organising author’s CV and brief abstract.

Brief proposals for World Leading Sessions should be submitted by leading representatives of major trade associations, institutions, corporations and consortiums.

Substantial discounts in registration fees are available for organisers of structured sessions. Organisers will be acknowledged in all materials (ie Proceedings, website, call for papers and announcements) which will be distributed worldwide.

Organisers of structured sessions will be awarded the opportunity to present a ‘specialised keynote address’ at the beginning of the session.

This competition is intended to encourage students and people in the early stage of their career in the field of condition monitoring and machinery failure prevention to present their work. The winning paper will be selected based on both the quality of the paper and the presentation.

Winner(s) will be awarded certificate(s), a cash sum of £250 (subject to obtained cash sponsorship) and free Institute membership for one year (for the presenting author only).

A banquet and Dublin tour are available for all full-time participants. For all part time delegates or exhibitors these may be purchased in addition to your delegate or exhibition fees. A welcome buffet will be arranged for Monday 22nd June, and in order to minimise fees to all delegates this can be purchased separately for those wishing to attend. A special reception will be organised for members of the international scientific advisory committee and local organising committee.
