The Smithsonian Is Coming to Los Angeles! This free workshop at the Japanese American National Museum will focus on how you can help your students develop historical thinking skills by sharing the Japanese American incarceration experience. We will share Asian Pacific American resources available to incorporate into your teaching as a way to gain a better understanding of the relevance of historical events to contemporary events. Saturday, October 20, 2018 9:00am–4:00pm - Open to teachers of students grades 4–12, pre-service teachers, school librarians, administrators, or curriculum developers. - Lunch provided - $100 stipend for those who complete workshop requirements s.si.edu/JANM This program received federal support from the Asian Pacific American Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center.
