FROM YOUR CHAPTER DIRECTOR:
Happy New Year Gold wingers !
This New Year is off to a Great Start. I know Cheryle and I have
really enjoyed these past few weeks as our oldest son that lives in
Texas came up and has been able to spend a couple of weeks with
us. It has been great to have all of our family together for the
holidays.
We want to thank everyone that made it to the “Christmas on Main
Street” at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you missed this, then I am
sorry for you, as this is really a great show. We had a fun time at
our Dirty Santa Christmas party and we had some gift stealing this
year. What a fun time at this party.
With the New Year creeping upon us, we are starting to look
forward into 2020. Coming up we have our Annual Sweetheart
Weekend on February 15, 2020. I hope to see you all at the GREAT
EVENT.
For now, stay happy and most of all stay healthy and safe.
Regards,
Kevin Miller

THE RONALD MCDONALD CORNER
Our Ronald McDonald Fund is shooting for $800.00, and $63.28 is
where we are at for January.
I Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
Iowa E was represented in the Burlington Christmas Parade
November 30, 2019, weather was a little touch and go but 1 bike was
there and rode. (guess who).
Our Toys for Needy Children dinner was December 14, 2019. The
attendance a down little this time. We had some out sick and others
missed out. We still had a good supply of toys and bikes. Several people there and some that
couldn’t make it gave some extra Monies. We had a cash total of $210.00 and a cart full of can
goods to donate to Toys for Needy Children. Thank you everyone!
If any of you shop or visit Bickel’s bike shop in West Burlington, please thank them for the
support they gave our Chapter by helping Val and me in getting that many bikes done. (9 were
donated this year). Chris gave us a very good discount on parts we needed.
Our dirty Santa party was December 15, 2019 at Ed and Skips place. The attendance was a little
light, but everyone there had a good time eating and opening gifts, and lots of good laughs was
had by all.
POP TABS, POP TABS, POP TABS, COLLECT, COLLECT, COLLECT!
Until next time.
God Bless to you all !

The year is winding down but we save the best holidays to the end of the year. It is usually
something to look forward to. I know many people had a challenging year. Most of us had good
times this past year as well. Don’t forget to look back at the special, good times we experienced
last year as well. Let’s look ahead to more special times coming up in 2020.
Next month I am going to write about a new chapter position called the Chapter Skill
Enhancement Advisor and how that person will help you with the levels program, among a few
other responsibilities. So, keep an eye out for that article.
As you think about next year, please keep in mind ways to keep yourselves current in the levels
program, join the levels program, or just find ways to enhance your motorcycle skills. More
about that latter topic in future articles. Don’t forget about the Iowa Safety Weekend for
your ARC or TRC course, and your CPR/First Aid classes. The date for that weekend is May
16th and 17th. That is the Saturday and Sunday after Mother’s Day at the Des Moines Area
Community College campus in Ankeny. We can put on more of any of those classes in other parts
of the state. However, I have found finding a parking that is the proper size and that the
owners will allow us to use can be challenging. But we certainly can try to find a place once we
know there are more than a couple of bikes or trikes that are interested in taking the course
but are not able to make it to our Safety Weekend.
We will have a couple of presentations (modules) the afternoon before the Crazy Supper. That
is on March 7th. So, please put that on your calendar.
Another big event is something Clara Boldt and I have been discussing, but I don’t have
everything worked out and don’t have a time for that event. So, you will just have to stay tuned
in and watch for an announcement on what and when this is so you can get this on your
calendars. I am sorry I am not more specific. I just want you to know that we are looking for
ways to make 2020 fun and educational.
Until next month, I wish you safe riding and a Happy New Year!
