Jubilee Senior Adult Conference ~ September 17-19 @Gatlinburg Convention Center

From Preacher Jeff... 22And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. Genesis 2:22 Well, I did it! On July 14, 2018, I walked my daughter, Sarah Ann Strong, down the aisle and presented her hand in marriage to Gregory Andrew Cain so that he could love her and cherish her until they are parted by death. Many have asked, “Did you make it through okay?” “How are you doing?” Some have even asked, “How much did you cry?” Ramona can probably tell you more about “how I did” than anyone because, truly, I was so full emotionally and spiritually that I cannot remember getting dressed that day! What a joyous occasion! Last month, Sarah wrote an article in this very column expressing her love for every one of you. Ramona and I appreciate the blessing you have been to our family. You continue to touch our family in indescribable ways. Our heart’s desire would have been to invite EVERY member of Sullivan Baptist Church to Sarah’s wedding. Regretfully, that was not possible for several reasons; however, by the presence of the Holy Spirit, we were together spiritually even though we may have been apart physically. Through HIM, you WERE with us at the wedding though you may not have even realized it! Everything seemed to proceed, as they say, “without a hitch.” I got to sit with Ramona while Sarah and Andrew’s pastor, Bro. Hollie Miller, officiated. The wedding was a time of worship. Sarah raised her hand in praise as everyone sang What a Beautiful Name It Is. Their personally written vows were sweetly shared. I was honored to pray over Sarah and Andrew. At the end of the prayer, the Spirit reminded me of a song. Therefore, you know me, I began to sing…

How can we keep from singing Your praise? How can we ever say enough? How amazing is Your

love? How can we keep from shouting Your name?

We know we are loved by the King. And it makes our heart want to sing!

…then Sarah began to sing…the preacher began to sing…I think I even heard Andrew sing a note or two! I am reminded of the wedding that will take place soon between Jesus and His spotless Church bride. The Father extends an invitation to this celebration. Will you RSVP? God loves you, and I love you!

Music News How time flies! It is hard to believe that for most, summer break is over and school is starting back. It has been a great summer, and I am excited about what God is doing in our worship. It won’t be long before Christmas is here and the choir begins their preparations for our Christmas program. I have talked to several people who have expressed an interest in being a part of our choir. This is a great time to join. Our normal choir practice is at 4:45 on Sunday afternoons. You do not have to be a member of the church to sing in the choir, so if you are visiting and would like to learn more about the choir, come and sing with us. We are also looking for instrumentalists to play with our orchestra. If you are   interested in that, please email me at [email protected], or call me at the church. Love in Christ,

Bro. Andy

Please stop by the downstairs hallway bulletin board to read these kind messages to our church family.

Church Family, It has been a HUGE Summer in the life of our Student Ministry! We’ve gotten to see and do so much together, and it has been such a blessing in my life to get to walk alongside of our young people during this summer season. Two things occurred this summer that truly made it one for the books. First, we got to baptize 4 of our young people and celebrate their decisions to follow Jesus, and second, our group continued to become more and more like a family. That’s what really sticks out about our group of students---they don’t just smile and wave at church; they actually care about one another outside of these walls. We could learn a lot from that! It’s awesome when the one question you consistently get as a student pastor from other student pastors is: “How do all of your kids get along so well?” Followed by the statement: “It’s like there aren’t any cliques.” I’m not saying our youth group is perfect; we are far from it. However, that unity is JESUS in these kids, and it’s a beautiful thing. As this school year approaches, cover these young people in prayer. The school year can be a valley for some; let’s pray that their fruit would grow in the valley. In Him, Tyler
