February 1, 2015 THE SYNOD ON MARRIAGE This process began last fall with a universal synod in Rome, addressing the issue of marriage and the family. The preliminary results of the synod have been published, and Rome is asking for input from the People of God. This process began last fall with a universal

GIRLS ON THE RUN IS COMING TO

ST. MARY SCHOOL! Girls on the Run will meet Mondays and Wednesdays right

after school here at St. Mary (3:30 - 5pm). Season starts

on March 9th and runs until May 22nd!

What is Girls on the Run? Girls on the Run is a non-profit

organization that envisions a world where every girl knows

and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly

pursue her dreams. Our ten-week program is designed for

girls in grades 3rd-8th. Lessons are led by trained volunteer

coaches who guide and mentor the girls through an uplifting

curriculum that focuses on life-long skills to improve

emotional and physical health. The girls then run a non-

competitive 5k event which gives the girls a chance to shine

and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. 5k event is

on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

WE C.A.R.E. – 2 This program is designed for married couples who are interested in strengthening their communication skills in a faith-based setting. The program is designed to teach couples communication skills and techniques for handling conflict and promoting intimacy with the aim of preventing future marital problems and divorce. Perhaps you took the WE C.A.R.E. program during your engagement and would like a refresher to strengthen your communication skills. Or, perhaps you were not able to participate in this program during your marriage preparation and would like to take advantage of this opportunity now.

The CARE Program teaches:

How to communicate what you want out of your

relationships.

How to resolve conflict effectively and reduce

arguments.

How to solve problems as a team.

How to keep friendship and intimacy a part of

your relationship.

How to develop skills to enhance

understanding and maintain commitment.
