Introduction This manual describes how to use the Tacx Cycling app. Chapter 1 “Getting started” is important to
read before starting a training session, the other chapters describe the different functions offered by
the application.

1. Getting started
1. Download the Tacx Cycling app
1. Go to the App store or Google Play store .
2. Search for “Tacx”.
3. Download the Tacx Cycling app.
2. Start the Tacx Cycling app
1a. Bluetooth integrated in tablet
Make sure that your Bluetooth is turned on.
1b. No Bluetooth, only ANT+ integrated in tablet
iPad: use the Wahoo ANT+ Dongle and Apple lightning adapter.
Android tablet with micro USB input: use the T2090 ANT+ Dongle micro USB.
Is ANT+ integrated in your tablet? Then you don’t need a receiver.
3. The app opens in the home
screen (quick start), showing the
training options:
- Slope
- Power
- Heart rate
- Films
- Workouts
- Devices

3. Connect your device
Before you can start using the app for training sessions, you need to connect it to your device(s).
1. At the home page, go to “devices”
at the right bottom corner.
2. In the connection menu, press
“start scan” at the bottom of the
page.

The app will search for the devices.
Bushido users should start cycling
while the app is searching.
3. Press “stop scan” at the bottom
of the page when the app has found
your device.
The connection will only show when
you stop the “start scan” button.

4. Press the “pair” button at the
bottom of the page.
The app is correctly connected when
the marked pictogram lights up and
when you see the serial number and
version number of the device.
Bushido users: cycle to make the
connection visible.

5. Finish
The device is now correctly paired. This
is also shown at the top of your screen.
Connecting to a heart rate sensor
works the same. Search for your
sensor and then pair it, it is correctly
connected when the heart rate -
symbol is highlighted.
4. Calibrate your device
1. Press “calibrate” at the bottom right
corner of the page

2. Start the calibration process and
follow the instructions on your screen.
For example, as in the images shown:
accelerate to 40 km/h to complete
calibration. Once you reached the
40 km/h stop cycling.

3a. When the arrow is located in the
green, the device is correctly
calibrated. If you still experience
slippage, press the tire harder to get
it more to the right of the green.
3b. When the arrow is located in the
red on the left, your tire doesn’t press
hard enough against the roll. Use the
tip in the screen to get a correct
calibration.
It is always important to have a tire
pressure of 110PSI or 8 bar

3c. When the arrow is located in
the red on the right your tire
presses the roll to hard. Use the
tip to get a correct calibration.
4. Your device is correctly calibrated when the arrow is in the green.

2. Start a “free training” based on slope, power or heart rate
1. At the home page you can
choose for a training based on
slope, power or heart rate
training.
2. For this explanation we select
a training based on slope.
Go to “slope” at the bottom left of
your screen.
3. Start cycling after the
countdown.
With the plus and minus
symbol you can increase
and reduce the slope
percentage.
(the limit is 20%)
For some trainers it will
take a few seconds before
the adjustments are processed.
Satori Smart users need to control the resistance with the lever on the handlebar. When increasing or
decreasing the desired slope, power or heart rate in the app, the speed indication (marked with the
green arrow) will turn white. This means you are in “virtual speed”. You can change your resistance

lever to different positions so that the wattage is in line with the correct slope indicator. When you do
this and the speed indicator turns gray again (like shown) you have the correct setup for the climb.
4. To end your training, press
“end training” at the top left of
your screen.
6. Now you can save your data.
To save your data and return to
the home page, press “save”.

3. Analyze your training
1. From the home screen, click
on the pictogram on the top of
the screen as marked in the
image.
(In this example the brake is
turned off so the brake indicator
is grey)
2. Choose “Analyser” in the drop
down menu.

3. You can now see all your
saved training sessions with the
according data.
4. Select the training you want
to analyze.
In the example the “test
training” is chosen.
Move the marked cursor to the
right or left to see the results of
specific moments during your
training session.
The results shown are your
speed, power and cadence.

4. Films
1. From the home screen, open the drop down menu and press “films” under the heading trainings.
2. The list with downloaded films opens. In case that you have not downloaded a film, the list will be
empty.
1. Downloading and purchasing films
Films are available as in-app purchases and have to be downloaded when in the app, they are
purchased through the App store and Google Play store.
Films purchased for iPads cannot be used for Android tablets and the other way around, because your
account on the Google Play store differs from your account on the App store.

press “films” under the
heading shop, as marked in
the image.

2. The list of available films
opens. The first one is a free
demo. To download the
demo, select it and press
“buy”.
3. Fill in the required
information to log in to your
Apple or Google account.
Then, the following image is
shown. Press “confirm” to
activate the download.

4. After purchasing it, you have
to download the film. Press
“download” at the bottom of
your screen. Make sure the film
is selected.
5. You can follow the progress of
your download by the yellow bar.

6. The download is finished when
the bar turns green.
All purchased routes will be displayed as “OWNED”.
If you remove the app and install it on another device (or reinstall the App) you need to press “restore
purchases” at the bottom of your screen. All the already purchased items will be displayed as
“OWNED” and can be downloaded again.

2. Creating film sections
1. At the home screen, open the
drop down menu and press
“films”.
2. The list with downloaded films
opens.
You have the possibility to
remove a film, edit its name, get
information about it or analyze
your performance data.
You can also create a course
based on a section of the entire
the film, press “courses” at the
bottom right of your screen.

3. The next screen shows the
different sections of the film that
are already created and saved.
Press “+”to add a course.
4. Use the sliders to change the
start and end position of the
section.
To save it press “save” at the
bottom of your screen.

5. Give the course a name and
press “save”.
6. You return to the list of sections
of the film. To start a section,
select it and press “start” at the
bottom of your screen.

5. Creating a workout (based on slope, power or heart rate)
1. From the home screen, open
the drop down menu and press
“create”.
2. Select the training you want
to create: based on slope,
power or heart rate.
You can also choose to make a
distance or time training.
In the example a
slope/distance training is
created.
Press “distance” in the
“SLOPE” section.

3. A course is built up from
sections. In case of this
example, the width is the
distance and the height is the
slope.
Use the vertical slider to
change the distance of each
section. Use the horizontal
slider to change the slope of
each section.
You can also use the buttons
at the bottom of your screen.
At the top graph you can see
the changes to the section.

4. Press “add” at the bottom
left of your screen to add the
section to your course.
You can directly start editing
the next section.
You can change a previously
created section by clicking on
that section in the top graph.
Press “delete” to delete a
section of the course.
Repeat the previous steps
until you’re happy with the
complete course.
5. When finished, press “save”
at the bottom right of your
screen.
Enter a name and save your
course.

6. Start cycling with a pre-programmed workout
1. From the home screen,
open the drop down menu and
press “workouts” under the
heading shop.
2. The list with available
courses opens. These are all
free.
To download a workout press
“buy” at the bottom right of
your screen. Make sure the
workout you want is selected.
Fill out your account
information. Then, when being
back at the list, press
“download”.

3. Go back to the home screen
and open the drop down menu,
Press “workouts” under the
heading trainings.
4. The list with downloaded and
created workouts opens.
Select the course you wish to
ride and press “start” to start
your workout.

7. Settings
The remaining options in the
drop down menu at the home
screen are the following.
Profile settings
To edit your profile: personal information and information necessary to simulate rides.
Devices list
To see which devices the application is connected to.
Preferences
To edit your preferences (language, system of measurement, energy unit, video view or sound).
