• Soldiers carry many things with them that weigh them down.• They have to carry helmets, heavy jackets, military boots,

ponchos, guns ammunition, water, and many more things that add up in weight and get worse every step they take.

What Some Need and Others Don’t

• Everyone had personal things that they need to get by.• Toe nail clippers, can openers, floss, toothpaste, foot powder,

lighters, pocket knifes, magazines, diaries, radio, cigarettes, socks, condoms,, razor blades, the bible, candy, dog tags, crosses and any other weapon they could get a hold of.

Emotional Baggage

• Soldiers carry so much emotional baggage that can never be fixed.

• Watching other soldiers and friends die, missing loved ones back at home, being terrified they wont make it, and being so exhausted from everything they have to do.
