Aguirre Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs National Music Publishers’ Association As Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs for the National Music Publishers’ Association, Danielle’s primary role is to protect and enforce the copyrights and intellectual property interests of songwriters and music publishers. Danielle has aggressively fought digital piracy and infringement through her work litigating against services including YouTube, Limewire, LiveUniverse and Fullscreen, leading to three favorable industry-wide settlements and a judgment against LiveUniverse. Danielle oversees NMPA’s takedown program, which focuses on shutting down or licensing illegal lyrics, sheet music and tablature websites, and has resulted in the licensing of dozens of lyrics sites which are now paying royalties to publishers and songwriters. After being named MVP on his state champion high school football team, Casey turned his focus from the field to the classroom when he realized his woeful vertical leap would preclude him from playing football professionally. He decided to pursue a career in sports from a different perspective — in 2010, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, this pursuit took him to the University of Southern California for law school. Both his 1L and 2L summers were spent in litigation firms. With an eye on sports, Casey joined the National Sports Lawyers’ Association and served as the USC Sports Law Society’s President. After graduation in May of 2013, and while studying for the July CA Bar Exam, Casey began as a temporary employee with NFL Media.
