THE FIRST ANGELS MESSAGE

"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."

And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?

For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

For this is Love of God, that we keep his commandments and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:3

Fear God

DEUT 5:29; Oh that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be there with them, and with their children forever.

DEUT 13:4; Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

ECC 12:13-14; Let us hear the conclusion on the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil

Why does the Gospel Angel shout with a loud voice, "Fear God"?"Fear" means to respect or reverence God! A recognition of His might and majesty and holiness. When we and others truly see that character, there will be born in us deep reverence for, and adoration of our Maker that will show itself in respect, obedience, service, and the desire to glorify His name by the way we live.

Give Glory to GodLet your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt 5.16. What! Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s. 1 Cor 6:19-20

I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from flesh lusts, which war against the soul

Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, that they by your good works which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. 1pet 2:11-12

…Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers. Nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor extortioners, shall inherit the Kingdom of God. 1Cor 6:9-10

And I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

JUDGEMENT

“But the Judgement shall sit…” (Dan. 7:26) “Beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit… thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousands times 10 thousand stood before him: the Judgement was set and the books were opened”

And another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things written in the book of life according to their works. Rev 20:12

For God has appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained; whereof he has given assurance unto all men, in that he has raised him from the dead. ACTS 17:31

“For the time is come that judgement must begin at the house of God: and it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the Gospel of God”

God commands all men everywhere to repent; because He has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness. 1Tim 1:11

Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness... In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Romans 2.15

Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. Give unto the LORD, O ye people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts. O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. Say among the heathen that the LORD reigns: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad ...before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. Psalm 96:6-13

“As many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law” and “The doers of the law shall be justified” Rom 2:12-16

For the wages of Sin is death but the gift of God Is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 6:23

What then, shall we sin, because we are not under the law but under grace? God Forbid. Rom 6: 15

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: Yea we establish the law Rom 3:31

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandments holy, and Just and Good. Rom 7:12

Worship him that made the heaven, and earth and the sea

Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy…For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is them, and rested the seventh day: Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Exodus 20:8-11

It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: For in six days the Lord made the heaven and earth and rested on the seventh day.

Exodus 31:17

THE SECOND ANGELS MESSAGE

“And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, the great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication,”

Therefore is the name of it called Babel because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth; and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

A beast in prophecy symbolizes a king or a kingdom. This is clearly taught in Dan 7:17,23: "These great beasts are four kings .... The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth..."

One "time" by their understanding was meant to mean one year. In those days they calculated in lunar years of 360 days per year. Lord's Day:  The Church, on the other hand, after changing the day of rest from the Jewish Sabbath, or seventh day of the week, to the first, made the Third Commandment refer to Sunday as the day to be kept holy as the Lord's Day. The Council of Trent (Sess. VI, can. xix) condemns those who deny that the Ten Commandments are binding on Christians.

H.R. Boer, in his popular publication of 1976, entitled A Short History of the Early Church, writes

concerning the Sunday law:"He designated Sunday by its traditional pagan name - the Day of the Sun -not the Sabbath or the Day of the Lord. Pagans could therefore accept it, while Christians gave the natural sun a new meaning by thinking of Christ as the Sun of Righteousness...Although Constantine and later emperors, as well as Church councils, enacted additional Sunday legislation, it was Constantine's decree of AD 321, that laid the basis for the universal recognition of Sunday as a day of rest." 2

Sunday, an apostolic Tradition, replaces the sabbath:

2175    Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week; for Christians its ceremonial observance replaces that of the sabbath....2177    "The Sunday celebration of the Lord's Day and his Eucharist is at the heart of the Church's life. 'Sunday is the day on which the paschal mystery is celebrated in light of the apostolic tradition and is to be observed as the foremost holy day of obligation in the universal Church.' "

   Dear sir: Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts:

    (1) That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe Sunday, stultifies

  them in the eyes of every thinking man.

2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us.  We say, this Church

instituted by Christ, to teach and guide men through life, has the right to change the Ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, "yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday Abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages, and a thousand other laws.

(3) We also say that of all Protestants, the Seventh-day Adventists are the only group that reason correctly and are consistent with their

teachings.  It is always somewhat laughable to see the Protestant Churches, in pulpit and legislature, demand the observance of Sundays of which there is nothing in the Bible.
