God Establishes His Covenant
Topic: God
Scripture references: Job 42:2; Psalm
139:1–10; Isaiah 40:12–14; Mark 10:27;
Hebrews 4:13
We use three big words to describe God—
omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.
What do these words mean?
1. God Is OmniscientGod knows everything. He knows all
about the plants, the animals, and the whole
world. He knows all about you. He knows all
about your family. God knows everything
about everything.
When we talk about God’s knowing
everything, we say God is omniscient (om-
NI-shent).
Psalm 139 says God knows all about you.
He sees you everywhere you go. He knows
what you are doing and what you are think-
ing. God even knew you before you were
born!
Since God knows everything, He knows
what will happen to you when you are older.
You can always trust God to take care of
you, because He knows all about you.
BFP: 310
2. God Is OmnipotentGod is very powerful. God is more power-
ful than anything or anyone. When we talk
about God’s having all power, we say God is
omnipotent (om-NIP-o-tent).
God is more powerful than any person.
God is more powerful than the devil. God is
strong enough to help you through any
troubles you might have.
Mark 10:27 says nothing is impossible for
God. God can do anything. You can always
depend on God to help you, no matter how
big or small your problems are.
BFP: 309
3. God Is OmnipresentWhere are you sitting right now? Who
can see you? If you are in a classroom, the
teacher and the other children can see you.
God can also see you because He is there
with you. God sees you everywhere you go
because He is everywhere.
God can see your parents too. They might
not be in the same room as you, but God is
with them just as He is with you. You can
trust Him to take care of every person in
your family no matter where they are.
When we talk about God’s being
everywhere, we say He is omnipresent (om-
ni-PRES-ent).
Psalm 139 says God is with you wherever
you go. If you travel far away, God is with
you. If you stay nearby, God is with you. If
you are in a dark room or a scary place, God
is with you. He will help you.
No matter where you are, you can know
that God is with you. He is strong enough to
watch over you and keep you in His care.
