Hey NYDKC Treasurers!

As of December 1, all clubs that have not submitted

dues are delinquent. Please send in dues as soon as possi-

ble! On March 1, your club will become suspended, and, as

a result, will not be able to attend the Leadership Training

Conference. I urge you to ask any questions you may have

about the dues process, or to contact me about any issue

you may have.

Aside from dues, please continue to report fundraisers

and to send in any proofs. If you can’t come up with any

new, fresh ideas, it doesn’t hurt to revisit a couple of old fa-

vorites. There are tons of viable ideas online that can be

done by your club.

Have a great winter, and stay warm!

Yours forever in service,

Alexander Mok

District Treasurer

s Gift Wrapping

Set up a gift wrapping station at your local

shopping mall. You can ask shoppers for

donations in return for wrapping their pre-

sents this holiday season.

Christmas Caroling

Walk around the neighborhood with a

couple of other Key Clubbers singing

Christmas carols to raise money for a

cause. Instruments can be used in addi-

tion to vocals.

Christmas Show

Hold a Christmas show with

holiday themed perform-

ances. There is so much to dis-

play like the nativity story,

Christmas songs, and other fes-

tive acts.

New Year’s Resolutions

As a club, have each member set five

New Year’s resolutions. When one resolu-

tion is broken, have the member pay a

certain amount.

Guess the Number

Fill a glass jar or container with a known

number of small objects like marbles or

balls. Charge students a dollar to guess

the number of objects in the jar. The clos-

est guess wins.

Masquerade Ball

Hold a masquerade ball filled

with music, games, dancing,

and other fun activities! Charge

admission and donate the prof-

its to charity.

Valentine’s Day Flowers

Sell flowers of all different colors in school.

You can sell 1 for $3 and 2 for $5.

Valentine Delivery System

Charge a fee to help someone deliver

items like flowers or chocolates to another

person.

Prom Proposal

Help someone create a perfect

prom proposal with the use of

props, singing, or other ideas.

Below you will find a breakdown of how every club member’s dues are used. The

money is never gone to waste, and it is important to tell current and prospective

members where their money is going.

For the 2013 – 2014 service year, dues will be $12.50 in addition to the optional

$1 – $3 that each club can add. The breakdown of dues is shown below.

International New York District Your Club

$6.50 $6.00 $1.00 – $3.00

• International Website www.keyclub.org

• International Board Meetings • Governor and Administrator Training Conference • Resources (posters, public relations tools) • Pins and Membership Cards • District Support • Awards (scholarships, distinguished officers, etc.) • International Convention • Other Expenses

• District Website www.nydkc.org

• Board Meetings • District/Club Awards • District Officer Materials (pins, resources, etc.) • Leadership Training Conference • Other Expenses

• Events (parties, fundraisers, etc.) • Club Website • Meeting Supplies • Supplies for Projects • Support to Attend LTC • Kiwanis Club Visits • Club Awards • Other Expenses

I hope to have more clubs earn the Early Bird Dues Patch for this service year.

Please check out my How-To guide for dues for detailed steps on submitting dues

and for a recommended timeline of completed actions. Click here to view my

dues guide on Issuu.

I will also create a chart to note which clubs have paid dues for the service year

and when so that all Lieutenant Governors can remind their clubs to submit dues.
