New Administrative Assistant!!!

Thank you all for pouring out your appreciation and gratitude for our outgoing Administrative Assistant Pattie Lopshire on Palm Sunday, back on March 29th. He would like to address some of the items on the list waiting to be purchased for the kitchen. Christian Nurture: Kathy Price reported the 8th Logos season has ended and the banquet is March 18th. March 2015 Stated Session Meeting

March 17th 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Room

Opening Prayer was done with members participating in “The Lego Prayer.” Present: Moderator, Phil Price; Elders: Robin Olszynski, Mark Koffer, Kathy Price, Rene Horner, Darlene Annen, Darryl Norenberg, Jerry Green, Jacqui Kinzy, Terry Nelsen and Linda Tuley, Clerk, and Bob Wright, Treasurer Absent: Scott Atkins, and Linda Zimmerman. Clerk of Session: Kathy Price moved to accept the February Stated Session Meeting Minutes as amended, S&P. Membership Actions: Mark Koffer moved to accept Phil and Alice Winn by Certificate of Transfer from First Presbyterian Church in Florence, Arizona, S&P. Pausing to hear God’s word was John 12:20-33. Continuing Education: Having read Where We Came From: chapters 1, 2, and 3, the big ideas we gleaned were shared. Old Business Rene, Personnel, gave an update on the hiring process for the Administrative Assistant, which has narrowed the search to three applicants to be interviewed. They hope to select a new hire by this coming Friday the 20th, to train the following week with Pattie. Board of Deacons: Phil gave the update on their restructuring process. They are down to six flocks, with more members in each flock. Based on their request, Kathy moved that the number of Deacons be dropped down to 12 from the current 15, S&P. Two deacons will serve each flock. Pausing to hear God’s word was Jeremiah 31:31-34 New Business Jacqui moved that Session give the hiring committee the authority to hire the new Administrative Assistant, S&P. This relates only to this upcoming hire, and the selection will need to be ratified at the April Session Meeting. The Marriage Amendment, 14F, being proposed for presbyteries to vote upon, has been approved by the 86 needed to adopt and it will be included in the next printing of the Book of Order. Phil shared a two-page document to further explain what this does and does not mean. This and additional resources are available in the church office if you would like to read more.
