Happy Blessed Birthday, Deacon Kevin Prunty, Saturday, September 14th!
My dear parishioners, This Sunday we begin a new year of Religious Education
classes at St. Patrick Catholic Church! At this time, I wish to ex-tend a very warm welcome to all our returning catechists and stu-dents, as well as to all those who are newly attending or assisting with our program. I also wish to express my gratitude to our Co-ordinator of Religious Education, Susan McCoy, for working so diligently over the summer to prepare for this Sunday and this new academic year. The opportunity last year to make regular visits to the classrooms of our Religious Education students was enriching for me as well as for the students. In addition to wor-shiping with our students at Sunday Mass, I am looking forward again to sharing our beautiful Catholic faith with them, joining them for Eucharist adoration, and making myself available to them for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
I am particularly excited that our 7th and 8th grade Reli-gious Education students will be receiving the Sacrament of Con-firmation this academic year. To prepare our 7th and 8th graders for this Sacrament, we will again be using a video-based instruc-tion on the Sacrament of Confirmation called Decision Point, fea-turing world renowned Catholic speaker and author, Matthew Kelly. The program’s videos and bonus content can be found in the “LINKS” sections of our parish website: www.stpatrickamboy.org/youth-faith-formation.
If you have not registered your son or daughter for our Religious Education classes already, it is not too late to do so. You can find our regis-tration form online in the “RELIGIOUS EDUCATION DOCUMENTS”
section of our parish website: www.stpatrickamboy.org/youth-faith-formation. Finally, I kindly ask all of you to keep our Religious Education families, catechists, and helpers in your prayers throughout this academic year. “May the favor of the Lord our God be ours. Prosper the work of our hands! Prosper the work of our hands!” (Ps 90:17)
