Each fall, 525 new students join the

Honors Program—with an additional 20 percent

accepted after applying for First Semester Entry.

As an Honors student, you can choose any degree program at UGA. The entire university, with its 170-plus majors and academic programs, is open to you.

Knowledge and free lunch in the same setting? Yes, please! Through our lunchbox lecture series (pictured above) and book discussions, we connect students with faculty over a meal. Honors students also enjoy early registration and small class sizes along with a wide variety of Honors-specific course sections and seminars.

Honors ScholarshipsUGA’s top three academic scholarships are available through the Honors Program:

• Foundation Fellowship: UGA’s premier academic scholarship provides generous annual funding and stipends for group and individual study abroad, as well as research and conference grants.

• Ramsey Honors Scholarship: Awarded though the Foundation Fellowsapplication process, the Ramsey HonorsScholarship offers annual funding and domestic travel-study grants.

• CURO Honors Scholarship: UGA’s top undergraduate research scholarship provides $3,000 of funding yearly for students interested in conducting research in a variety of fields.

Experiential Opportunities

Discovery ServiceLeadership

Build your leadership skills through Honors internships, the Corsair Society, Honors Program Student Council, Honors Ambassadors, and Honors Teaching Assistants. Each fall, select student leaders receive the Crane Leadership Scholarship.

Whether you’re viewing the world from a mountaintop or discovering it through a micro-scope, our goal is to get you there—through travel-study (Honors International Scholars Program) and research (the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities).

Tutor and mentor at-risk students through the Thomas Lay After School Program; provide math instruction through UGA MATHCOUNTS Outreach; or apply for the Ash Service Award, which helps fund internships with state service organizations.

From your first advising appointment to preparations for your last interview for graduate school, you will find personalized attention throughout your time in the Honors Program. We provide:

• Academic advising and priority registration• UGA’s major scholarships office, which serves all UGA students as they apply for nationally competitive scholarships• Career development guidance, including application and interview help for medical school, health careers, and graduate programs• Workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and professionalism
