Since the completion of this haven of Westcountry luxury
in 1903, The Victoria Hotel has welcomed guests with a
unique blend of hospitality, comfort and style. Named in
honour of Queen Victoria, who enjoyed many summers in
her adjacent residence, the hotel provides every modern
amenity whilst epitomising traditional values of personal
and attentive service, fine cuisine
and a sense of luxury that is beyond compare.
Perfectly located on Sidmouth’s beautiful esplanade,
for many years the Victoria has been owned and run by
the Brend family - the West Country’s leading hoteliers.
Much loving care and attention has been lavished upon
this fine establishment and it’s no wonder that it enjoys
a reputation as one of England’s finest hotels.

On arriving at the Victoria it is impossible
not to recall the opulence and grandeur
of another age,whilst feeling immediately
at home. In the spacious and comfortably
furnished lounge you’ll find an atmosphere
of rest and relaxation.
Look out of the large bay windows across
the hotel’s beautifully landscaped gardens
and you’ll discover spectacular views of
Sidmouth’s Esplanade Bay. The Sun Lounge
provides an idyllic setting in which to take
morning coffee, a traditional Devonshire
cream tea or a fireside after-dinner liqueur.
Naturally, as such magnificent
surroundings would suggest, you can expect
prompt, attentive service from friendly,
professional staff.

The Victoria is proud to offer a wealth
of indoor and outdoor leisure facilities
as grand as the hotel itself. The indoor
leisure complex is accessible from all
floors and includes a superb heated
swimming pool, sauna, solarium, spa bath,
table tennis, snooker rooms and a games
and fitness area. And if that sounds too
strenuous then you can sit back and be
pampered in our professionally staffed
hairdressing salon.

An outstanding feature of the Hotel is the outdoor
pool complex where poolside facilities include
spacious changing rooms, ample sheltered sunbathing
and an additional smaller pool, which provides safe
fun for even our youngest guests. Both of the pools
are heated from May until September.
Should you desire a light lunch throughout the
day the Pavilion Bar offers a wide range of tasty
snacks and drinks, while the summer barbecue
always proves to be a popular attraction.
Alternatively, set in the five acres of the hotel’s
magnificent grounds you’ll discover our 18-hole
putting green, or - for those who desire a more
energetic work out - a tennis court.

The Victoria Enjoys prime position on
Sidmouth’s seafront and is just a short level
walk from the town centre. Sidmouth, rich
in Georgian and Victorian architecture,
has won many awards for its gardens and
formal displays that thrive in the south
coast’s mild climate.
Complementing the hotel’s leisure facilities
Sidmouth offers a wealth of sporting
activities including golf, horse riding, sea
and river fishing, wind-surfing, sailing and
bowls. However, if you’ve a more relaxing
breakaway on your mind, then there’s still
plenty to see and do throughout the year.
The hotel is only a short drive away from
some of the most impressive gardens and
stately homes in Britain, while the cathedral
city of Exeter is a shopper’s paradise.
