HAPPY EASTER!

Easter marks the end of Lent, 40 days of fasting, repentance and spiritual

discipline. It is known as Resurrection Sunday, celebrating the resurrection of

Jesus Christ from the dead three days after his crucification.

Easter historically associates with spring, fertility, long life, renewal and

rabbits. Thus, the Easter bunny, lilies, colorfully-painted Easter eggs and an

abundance of candy for the children.

As we move through the 21st century, businesses

and government agencies still strongly observe Easter as a

very special holiday in line with Christmas, if not more im-

portantly.

With that said, Christians should rejoice and stay

strong in the faith in honoring him this day and season.

Ministry Musings from the District Superintendent

ANNUAL CONFERENCE MISSION STATEMENT:

Inspiring the World as Passionate Followers of Jesus Christ

So All May Experience God’s Life-Giving Love

BRING YOUR BEST FOR EASTER!

With very few exceptions, Easter Sunday is the highest attended worship service of the year in our churches. Most churches have an increase of from 50% to 100% or more on this day. It is also the day that the largest number of nonchurched people attend. This may be your one and only chance to reach these people in a way that will bring them back to church and then they can be blessed by the Good News of Jesus Christ.

So here are some suggestions:

1) Bring your very best for that day: preaching, music, dance, etc.

2) Have extra people serving as ushers and greeters. If you don’t already have them, have people in your parking lot helping. Use people from all generations, including children. It is a good visual image for people coming in. 2) Have your bulletin as free from “churchy” language and terms that only the membership knows as possible.

4) Encourage the members of the church to be extra friendly and welcoming. Don’t let this opportunity get away to share the greatest event in history!

BISHOP’S VISIT TO OAHU DURING HOLY WEEK:

Our Annual Conference leader, Bishop Minerva Carcaño, will be visiting Oahu during Holy Week. She is scheduled to preach at two of our churches: KamNam on Palm/Passion Sunday on March 29; and at Honolulu First on Easter Sunday, April 5.

In addition, she will be worshiping at the joint Maundy Service with Wesley and Kilohana. On Good Friday, she will at Christ UMC, which is hosting her for lodging during her stay.

During a previous visit, Bishop Carcaño had a day apart with the neighbor island clergy. This trip, she will have days apart with Oahu clergy. There are two opportunities, both from 92:

1) Monday, March 30, at Trinity UMC.

2) Tuesday, March 31, at Parker UMC. I have been receiving RSVP’s by email, so no registration form

(as previously announced in this column) will be required.

ELECT YOUR AC DELEGATES AND HUMU REPS:

The official delegates to annual conference must be approved by a charge conference. This is especially important for the airfare reimbursement. Please make sure you have arranged this. In addition, the HUMU membership from a church consists of each appointed clergy and one elected lay person. Please have a special charge

conference as well.

Grace and aloha,

P.S. The Hawaii District was one of the first two in the annual conference to complete Tables 1, 2, 3.

Thank you for your diligence!

MESSAGE FROM SIONE LILO VAKAUTA – HAWAII DISTRICT LAY LEADER

HAWAII DISTRICT

GOD IS ABOUT TO SUDDENLY, EXTREMELY, AND COMPLETELY CHANGE YOUR LIFE

---When God decides to open the windows of heaven – nothing can stand in the way;

---When God determines to bless – no one can stop Him;

---When the favor of God is upon you, nothing is beyond His ability!

THAT’S A PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

It is time to PUT THE DEVIL ON NOTICE that his season is over! Satan came to steal your joy, kill your hope of seeing you blessed with

employment, and destroy your faith. BUT I DECLARE TO YOU THAT OUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS COME TO GIVE YOU A LIFE

OF SUPERNATURAL ABUNDANCE!

THAT’S YOUR PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

HAWAII DISTRICT, imagine every bill paid, every need supplied; every sickness healed; every problem solved …

THAT’S YOUR PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

This is your opportunity to step into a NEW YEAR FILLED WITH DIVINE BLESSING AND SUPERNATURAL ABUNDANCE!

2015 IS YOUR YEAR OF MIRACLE BLESSING

HAWAII DISTRICT, I want you to know that God has created a PERSONAL PROPERITY REVOLUTION PLAN for you in this New

Year. The Bible tells us in JEREMIAH 29:11…

I AM GOING TO TELL YOU WHY…

“For I know that plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

HAWAII DISTRICT, I want you to know that God indeed has BIG PLANS for you! God plans to PROSPER YOU! He plans to

BLESS YOU! He desires to give you HOPE – even when things seem hopeless… and a FUTURE beyond your imagination.

REMEMBER, YOU ARE NOT BOUND BY YOUR PAST WHEN GOD GIVES YOU A PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

HAWAII DISTRICT, God gave us a POWERFUL PROPHETIC WORD that I will share with you soon…But, I want you to know that

this year will be unlike any other season in your life. When the FAVOR OF GOD IS UPON YOU, you walk in HIS PROTECTION and are

surrounded by HIS BLESSING. You can look forward to some fabulous surprises!

A SHAKE UP OF YOUR FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL SITUATIONS

A LIFE OF EXTREME ABUNDANCE WILL BE YOURS!

HAWAII DISTRICT, God showed us HIS PLAN for your PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION. As you r ead this letter , I will

tell you everything you need to know – and everything you need to do – to unlock this POWERFUL PROMISE from God.

As you obey God’s instructions, A SUPERNATURAL PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION will be yours, if you take into considera-

tion the key revelations that I share with you. Remember what the Bible says in Job 36:11….

“If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in PROSPERITY, and their years in pleasures.”

“While the Earth remains, SEEDTIME and HARVEST, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not

cease.”

God set the LAW OF SEEDTIME AND HARVEST in motion centuries ago. If we are going to receive the DIVINE PROMISES OF

GOD, WE MUST BOTH HONOR HIS PRINCIPLES and OBEY HIS VOICE.

HAWAII DISTRICT, there are no shor tcuts to a DIVINE HARVEST. Every HARVEST requires a SEED. The only way to release

GOD’S PROPHETIC PROMISE of a PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION is to obey His word and SOW THE NECESSARY SEED to

obtain the PROMISED HARVEST! Paul writes in Galatians 6:9…

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season WE SHALL REAP.

GOD HAS A PLAN TO BLESS YOU – GOD HAS A PLAN TO PROSPER YOU. GOD HAS PLANNED A WONDERFUL FUTURE

FOR YOU!

DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!! HAWAII DISTRICT.

GLORY TO GOD FOR HIS LOVE AND MERCY.

WE LOVE YOU ALL HAWAII DISTRICT.
