THE REV. DR. SE HEE HAN

Dr. Han is current-ly the senior pastor of the Culver-Palms UMC and has served sever-al churches in our annual conference since the 1980’s. Ministry Musings from the District Superintendent

ANNUAL CONFERENCE MISSION STATEMENT:

Inspiring the World as Passionate Followers of Jesus Christ

So All May Experience God’s Life-Giving Love

WELCOME TO OUR NEW DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT!

We welcome the Rev. Dr. Se Hee Han as our new district superintendent! She brings some 30 years of experience as a pastor with strong administrative skills, a passion for the Gospel, and knowledge of our an-nual conference. I have worked with Rev. Han since the late ‘80s and have always been impressed with her deep faith in Christ, her collegiality, and ability to adapt to a variety of people, cultures, and settings. I am proud to call her my friend and pledge my full support of her superintendency. I will gladly accept her au-thority as the extension of the Bishop and will be delighted to serve as one of her pastors.

TRANSITION PROTOCOL

I am also delighted that I will be appointed to a church on Oahu on July 1 (the cabinet’s practice is not to announce officially any local church appointments until annual conference, but it is not a secret and it will be easy to find out where I am going). This will be, however, the first time that a Hawaii district super-intendent has been appointed in active ministry (and has not retired) to a church within the Hawaii District. When this happens, there is always potential for conflict of interest and the possibility of people consulting with me instead of Rev. Han.

Let me be very clear about the protocol:

It is my intent not to take any leadership positions in the district for at least one year from July 1, 2015. This is not only to avoid any conflict of interest, but my new church deserves as much of my time as possible, as I will be listening and learning about the church, building relationships, and forming plans to create the best, most life-changing ministry in partnership with the members.

While it may be easy at first to come to me with questions related to the district, I will be very definite in always referring any questions or concerns to our new DS. Even if there are questions that per-haps I may be the only one who knows the answer, I will still have the questions referred to Rev. Han. This gives her the option to determine the answer herself or to consult with me as she choos-es. I humbly but firmly ask you to respect me on this. Thank you very much.

RENEWAL LEAVE AND VACATION PLANS

Bishop Carcaño has encouraged me to take and approved renewal leave as I prepare for my new ap-pointment. Here is the schedule:

From May 15 – June 14, I will be on renewal leave, but I may come to the office occasionally, mostly as a venue for study, and when possible, be available for issues that emerge.

From June 15-20, I will be traveling to California and participating in the annual conference.

From June 21-30, I will be taking the remainder of my vacation days.

Thank you for your support and understanding during this transition!

Grace and aloha,

MESSAGE FROM SIONE LILO VAKAUTA – HAWAII DISTRICT LAY LEADER

HAWAII DISTRICT

GOD IS ABOUT TO SUDDENLY, EXTREMELY, AND COMPLETELY CHANGE YOUR LIFE

---When God decides to open the windows of heaven – nothing can stand in the way;

---When God determines to bless – no one can stop Him;

---When the favor of God is upon you, nothing is beyond His ability!

THAT’S A PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

It is time to PUT THE DEVIL ON NOTICE that his season is over! Satan came to steal your joy, kill your hope of seeing you blessed with em-

ployment, and destroy your faith. BUT I DECLARE TO YOU THAT OUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS COME TO GIVE YOU A LIFE OF

SUPERNATURAL ABUNDANCE!

THAT’S YOUR PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

HAWAII DISTRICT, imagine every bill paid, every need supplied; every sickness healed; every problem solved …

THAT’S YOUR PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

This is your opportunity to step into a NEW YEAR FILLED WITH DIVINE BLESSING AND SUPERNATURAL ABUNDANCE!

2015 IS YOUR YEAR OF MIRACLE BLESSING

HAWAII DISTRICT, I want you to know that God has created a PERSONAL PROPERITY REVOLUTION PLAN for you in this New

Year. The Bible tells us in JEREMIAH 29:11…

I AM GOING TO TELL YOU WHY…

“For I know that plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you

hope and a future.”

HAWAII DISTRICT, I want you to know that God indeed has BIG PLANS for you! God plans to PROSPER YOU! He plans to BLESS

YOU! He desires to give you HOPE – even when things seem hopeless… and a FUTURE beyond your imagination.

REMEMBER, YOU ARE NOT BOUND BY YOUR PAST WHEN GOD GIVES YOU A PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION!

HAWAII DISTRICT, God gave us a POWERFUL PROPHETIC WORD that I will share with you soon…But, I want you to know that this

year will be unlike any other season in your life. When the FAVOR OF GOD IS UPON YOU, you walk in HIS PROTECTION and are surrounded

by HIS BLESSING. You can look forward to some fabulous surprises!

A SHAKE UP OF YOUR FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL SITUATIONS

A LIFE OF EXTREME ABUNDANCE WILL BE YOURS!

HAWAII DISTRICT, God showed us HIS PLAN for your PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION. As you r ead this letter , I will tell

you everything you need to know – and everything you need to do – to unlock this POWERFUL PROMISE from God.

As you obey God’s instructions, A SUPERNATURAL PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION will be yours, if you take into consideration

the key revelations that I share with you. Remember what the Bible says in Job 36:11….

“If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in PROSPERITY, and their years in pleasures.”

“While the Earth remains, SEEDTIME and HARVEST, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”

God set the LAW OF SEEDTIME AND HARVEST in motion centuries ago. If we are going to receive the DIVINE PROMISES OF

GOD, WE MUST BOTH HONOR HIS PRINCIPLES and OBEY HIS VOICE.

HAWAII DISTRICT, there are no shor tcuts to a DIVINE HARVEST. Every HARVEST requires a SEED. The only way to release

GOD’S PROPHETIC PROMISE of a PERSONAL PROSPERITY REVOLUTION is to obey His word and SOW THE NECESSARY SEED to

obtain the PROMISED HARVEST! Paul writes in Galatians 6:9…

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season WE SHALL REAP.

GOD HAS A PLAN TO BLESS YOU – GOD HAS A PLAN TO PROSPER YOU. GOD HAS PLANNED A WONDERFUL FUTURE

FOR YOU!

DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!!! HAWAII DISTRICT.

GLORY TO GOD FOR HIS LOVE AND MERCY.

WE LOVE YOU ALL HAWAII DISTRICT.

2015 Hawaii Mission U California-Pacific United Methodist Women

Learn, Lead with Love Camp Erdman, 69-385 Farrington Highway, Waialua, Hawaii

July 10-12, 2015

Mission u is an opportunity to study a spiritual growth topic, a geographic area, and an issue impacting society. This study will examine the understanding of happiness and how to live the life that God call us to. John Wesley preached about holiness. He had much to say about what genuine happiness ought to be, and when understood properly, happiness and salvation belonged together. The event will also study appreciating Latin America geographically and the gifts of their community. Additionally the event will be providing awareness of issues surrounding people with disabilities and how the church can provide solutions from a Biblical perspective. And capitalizing on increasing an understanding of what life is like for Latin American youth who are working toward and dreaming of a better world. Deadline to register is June 22nd, including payments for classes and childcare. Please contact Collette Andersen at (808) 722-6933 or email her at [email protected] for more information.
