The Crunch N Sip program is a highly successful initiative to encourage the children to
improve their daily intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and to drink plenty of water. You
can support this initiative by making sure that your child has their “Fruit Break“ snack
every day and an extra bottle of water to have available in the classroom.
NO HAT- PLAY IN THE SHADE
Does your child remember to bring their hat to school every day? Families are
reminded that children need to have a hat to play in the playground with their friends.
Children who do not have a hat are required to play quietly under the shelter.

Students Commonwealth bank books will be collected from their classrooms, and returned

‘Sailing on Sydney Harbour’ On Tuesday 19th February, a small group of students were provided with an
amazing opportunity to sail Sydney Harbour on a beautiful yacht. ‘Sailors with
Disabilities’ (SWD) is a non-profit organisation providing sailing opportunities
for children from many different backgrounds and circumstances. Their aim is
to help children to demonstrate their skills, dedication and commitment to
achieving their goals. The students, along with Miss Mulder, Mrs Haeren and
Mrs Abbas, sailed for two hours and were able to steer the boat and learn
some basic sailing skills. Skipper John and his crew were great teachers and
ensured that everyone was safe and had fun. It was a perfect day for sailing
and even better to see the smiles of joy on all of the children’s faces.
So much is happening in our community. We have a new P&C, Kindergarten children and their families are
settling into our community and many activities are occurring week by week. Let’s have a look!
PARENTS & CITIZENS (P & C) ASSOCIATION The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the P&C was held on THURSDAY 7/3/19. At this meeting the new
Executive (President, Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer) were elected for 2019. New parents were
welcomed at the meeting and have now become general members of our parent group
Very soon our newly elected Executive will be introduced to our school community and our meeting dates
for 2019 will be published. Thank you to parents and carers who attended and committed their valuable
time to serving and promoting our school community!
Here is a picture from our 7th March meeting:
PERCUSSION COURSE FOR YEAR 3 AND 4 STUDENTS Year 4 students joined our Year 3 percussion students. All children behaved well, worked hard and played
percussion with enthusiasm. We have a wonderful and exciting year ahead as we learn the international
language of music and develop as musicians!!
BREAKFAST CLUB It is great to see students participating in Breakfast Club, starting their day with healthy food and drink.
Students volunteering their help to serve food to fellow students and help clean the C4K Room after
breakfast, will be thanked at each moning assembly.

their initial learning journey they will progress to assisting students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 classes.
