Maintaining the WA Control Lists

In 2012-14 important new WA controls were

agreed taking into account the fast evolution of

communications technologies:

Introduction of GSM communications control;

Introduction of cyber tools control (software &

technology for development of intrusion

software);

Introduction of controls on Internet monitoring

equipment.


Maintaining the WA Control Lists

In 2014 the WA also amended controls on existing

goods and technologies:

2014 - Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs);

2012 & 2014 – Spacecraft equipment;

2014 – De-activated firearms.

Maintaining the Control Lists 2015 Lists Review

• 244 papers representing national and working group

proposals

• 74 different topics; more than 80% agreed

• Most significant new/updated controls:

• clarification of controls on biological

detection/protection equipment, and on electronic

devices for military helmets;

• relaxation of controls on some machine tools,

computers, and equipment incorporating information

security, used in consumer industries.
